Lachie Weller requests trade for family reunion.

On the Gold Coast. With his parents.

I don’t think we’ve had a Lachie Weller rumour yet this year.

Suck s**t Ross. I wish he wanted to come to the Saints. We should make a play for him, seeing Mav is at the club. It's kind of heading home for family reasons. :D

Can we trade for the parents, move them down here and have the ultimate family reunion?

"Is this the right room for an argument?"
"I told you once."
"No, you didn't."
"Yes, I did."
"Listen, an argument isn't just the automatic gainsaying of anything the other person says, it's a series of statements designed to support a particular conclusion."
"No, it isn't."
"Oh, I've had enough of this."
"No you haven't"
"Oh shut up."

I think this is he perfect opportunity to move up the draft order.
Swap 7&8 for gc’s 2&21, so they can use either 7 or 8 on Weller.

Not a bad plan.
We should offer them Mav to sweeten the deal.

We have
Pick 7 = 1644 points
Pick 8 = 1551 points
Total = 3195 points

Gold Coast has
Pick 2 = 2517 points
Pick 21 = 878 points
Total 3395 points
We get dudded 200 points

We should be trying to upgrade at least one of our later picks but also off lload at least one which we have no need to use.
But GC also has
picks 24 = 785 ponts
picks 26 = 729 points
picks 37 = 483 points
pick 39 = 446 points

We also have
pick 45 = 347 points
pick 59 = 158 points
pick 63 = 112 points

For example we give away pick 59 & 63 and get back pick 37
or give away pick 45, 59 and 63 and get back pick 24 (we lose 32 points)
or give away 45, 59 and 63 and get back pick 26 (we lose 88 points)
But we get reduce our number of unnecessary picks.

But then Gold Coast probably does not want to give Fremantle pick 8 at 1551 points to Fremantle
Pick 7 at 1644 points for Lachie Weller plus pick 42 at 395 points should get that deal done.
We upgrade pick 59 and 63 at 158 & 122 points to pick 42 (we lose 85 points)

Would we let Gold Coast have Maverick back for pick 24 at 785 points seeing so many here hate Mav.

I wonder if this is now on Mavs mind too? Could be a family reunion that doesn't suit the Saints. Mybe not yet but later perhaps?

Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.

You need to protect the ball handler to increase posession efficiency

Funny that. I just asked the question that Mav may be interested to go to Gold Coast as a family reunion. Not sure of his intentions here and he may take tim to consider them.

If he was to go and Saints get pick 24 Perhaps this and pick 8 could attract a higher pick as per Bain's comment on podcast late last week.

I have some issue with this as Bains says this is a strong draft. That to me means it extends further out so why the interest to go for a higher rated pick? I think 7 8 and 24 would be great in a strong draft.

We don’t get “dudded”.
We gain 200 points. It’s a win for us.
If anything, going by the points system, we should also throw in pick 57 to even it out.

Absolutely correct.
My post was a load of CR@P.
Bill Shorten has asked me to be his treasurer in the next government.
Seems he likes my skill at turning a surplus into a deficit.

Maybe I could try something more simple.
We could get rid of so much hate for Maverick if we traded both Maverick and pick 8 at 1551 points to Gold Coast in return for pick 2 at 2517 points.
That would value Maverick at um er um er I hope 966 point somewhere between pick 18 & 19 (I hope).

Pick 24 for Maverick doesn't sound like a bad deal to me.

How often it happens in life.
A young lad of 21 will do whatever his girl wants him to.
Like a loyal puppy dog.

Girl says I think we should move back to Gold Coast now, not in 12 years time.
Puppy dog does as he is told.

And fair enough too.
If I was 21 again and a lovely young lass said to me lets go live in the Gold Coast I would be out of Freo like a rat out of an aqueduct (Thank you Monty Python).

You are obviously not the Ace of Hearts!!

But as the Ace of Diamonds you are obviously a mercenary, probably with a Rhodesian background - hence supporting the rabble that has just chalked up 21 Newspoll losses, on the way to the infamous 30 with their trickle down economic agenda and their adherence to the belief that the most effective form of regulation is self regulation, favoring exclusively which demographic, I wonder?

Hence the Budget continuing to have fundamental flaws from the Mining Boom Phase 1 from 2004 until 2007 (both inclusive) due to a raft of tax rebate measures such as the 50% relief from Capital Gains tax in the belief the Mining Boom would never end and the unsustainable tax cuts (except for median wage earners - remember Vanstone's "sandwich a week" comment?).

And a lousy $20 BILLION surplus from a Rivers of Gold economy of $1.4 TRILLION

Then came the GFC

So, I don't think Shorten will be giving you a call

In Bowen and Leigh he will have 2 very capable economic Ministers at his disposal.

I doubt Mav would want to move. He has recently bought an acreage property, in the same little country town that his girlfriend grew up in.
Happens to be in the same town I live in.

Because they are Gold Coast the club that was gifted back to back premierships guaranteed through draft picks by the AFL and totally blew it.
