Re: Team v Dockers
What is the logic of demeaning nicknames for the players of a team that one supports?

Re: Team v Dockers
Interchange is
Luke Dunstan, Blake Acres, Jack Steele, Sam Gilbert,
Ben Long, Daniel McKenzie, Maverick Weller
I acknowledge the value of Gilbo (yes, I am one of his haters, but I can now see the value he brings, esp in the ruck)
Gilbo- in
Lukey- in, really played well since he's returned
Steele- ??? got 36 touches but Gilbee said he needed more polish, but maybe he runs with Fyfe as a tagger, changing with Koby?
Long, DMack- I don't think they come in
Comes down to Mav vs Blake
Blake is from Perth, his family are there...but 8 touches is thin, no room for emotion and Richo
would drop Blake before Mav, because Mav is a leader, mature and AR expects him to respond, but Blake is younger
and still learning.

I have moved from Gilbo onto another player who I think should be dropped, won't say who

Just in a silly mood, sorry. Don't hate stoney, brings a bit of fun to the forum though I can do without his chestbeating. Nor do I think it's a demeaning nickname really. And of course I support the clubWellardSaint wrote:maybe schrodes supports the banned one whose name may not be mentionedsaintsRrising wrote:What is the logic of demeaning nicknames for the players pf a team that one supports?

Back on topic - I hope to see Steele back in this week. And Long if only to prove Wellard wrong about him never playing another AFL game

Dunstan is slow. Dunstan is a liability. Dunstan can be good in the VFL but he's playing against
blokes who work full-time as bricklayers and carpenters, so it's pretty much one step above amateur footy.

we've gone from a footy forum, to a discussion about primary school games?Joe Bloggs wrote:You set up you're marbles in a ring You get the Tom bowler you scatter those marbles all over the place..Wellard Saint is one of those marbles .dragit wrote:2 weeks agoWellardSaint wrote: Lukey- in, really played well since he's returnedWellardSaint wrote:I dislike Richo.

Re: Team v Dockers
Personally I hope MAV gets dropped. He needs to go back and work on the basics for a couple of weeks. I expect they will drop Acres - I think he deserves another opportunity, but he seems to be a whipping boy for the selection committee at times. Can't understand how Long is in consideration based on his very average form at Sandy.

Re: Team v Dockers
Weller and Dunstan have been named in the Sandy starting 18 while the rest of the interchange players for the saints are on the bench for Sandy. Does that mean that Mav & Luke aren't playing for the saints?

Hickey has really faded into obscurity. Last weekend's reports were that he was dominated by his VFL opponent.

Weller's goal kicking is a dead set liability.

I love Richo. He's a bloody good coach.
