Re: Guess The Comparison? Part II
They're basically the same.
To simplify it, Petracca pretty much takes a contested mark Inside 50 each week and kicks a goal with it. Whereas Sinclair doesn't.
That's obviously a critical difference - but aside from that it's very even.
Interesting.

Re: Guess The Comparison? Part II
Sorry, but I can't see this as a meaningful comparison. Petracca is an impact player whose role is to make a physical impact at contests, win contested ball, and capitalise on or create opportunities inside the forward 50. The stats don't usually tell the full story about such a player's worth. For example: if you look at Bont's stats, they aren't actually all that much better than Petracca. But which one would you want in your side?
Sinclair is coming along really well, but he's a completely different sort of player to Petracca.

Though to be fair Sinclair has mainly played across the midfield this season, whereas Petracca has mainly been playing forward.
In Sinclair's first year when he mainly played forward he averaged a goal per game.
I think the main point of the exercise though is that it shows that Sinclair is going quite ok this season. Though one cannot rely on stats alone. However the eyeballs have revealed that Sinclair is playing very well as well.

Might be all true but you're missing the point. Trying to guess who's who in these threads is fun!meher baba wrote:Sorry, but I can't see this as a meaningful comparison. Very interesting, but perhaps this might be rounded out by additional data that only John Mayer could supply.WellardSaint wrote:guess the comparison

He is very overrated and what's more he believes his own hype.
I have watched him closely and apart from the odd flashy thing doesn't do a lot.
I wouldn't trade Sinclair or Paddy for him.

The more you know, the more you know you don't know.
When I was a young child, I knew that I knew so much about so much.
Now that I am old and know so much more, I know that I know so much about so little, and so little about so much.

Re: Guess The Comparison? Part II
It means that 2014 was a pathetic draft pool whereas 2013 was a super pool.stonecold wrote:So, does that mean Christine Patricia is an under-achieving pick 2?????
A bit like 2002 zero Brownlows whereas 2001 too many Brownlows to count.
Why did we have to get our No 1 pick in 2014
I think we could have tanked better in 2013.

We got pick 3 which we used for Jack Billings.ace wrote:It means that 2014 was a pathetic draft pool whereas 2013 was a super pool.stonecold wrote:So, does that mean Christine Patricia is an under-achieving pick 2?????

If we had received no.1 we probably would have taken Tom Boyd and he hasn't set the world on fire.
Happy with JB.

Re: Guess The Comparison? Part II
If we gave up the Hawks pick, our own and throw in Paddy, Luke and Gilbo, theres a chance we could get both Tay Tay and KP. And oh my lord, wouldn't that be a fantasy come true...ace wrote:I would draft Taylor Swift.WellardSaint wrote:guess the comparison
