Numbers around the ball. Why we miss Armo badly.
So the game plan seems to be to have more numbers at stoppages and around the ball when the play is stationary.
The obvious problem with this is it means we are outnumbered everywhere else on the field.
This explains:
Our poor kicking efficiency
Our high turnover numbers from kicks +(they have more numbers behind the ball)
Our high handball ratio (noone to kick to)
The opposition high efficiency from their kicks ( they have more numbers ahead of the ball)
Can anyone get kicking efficiency stats rather than just disposal efficiency?
My guess is we will be close to the worst aide in the AFL for this and the game plan is the reason why. It isn't because we can't kick. It is because we are kicking to out numbered situations.
The answer?
We need less players but of better quality around the stationary ball.
This is where Armo comes in.
I am not saying he would have changed the result in the last three games but he would have made us more competitive.
The club should throw the kitchen sink at Kelly Martin and or Rockliff.
If that fails we need quality inside outside mids at the draft.

I thought Armo was crap... that's what I read on here
He's a good inside mid who creates physicality around the ball
And is clean off the deck and by hand at stoppage

Armo won't help.
He's a gun when healthy, but our problems when we had him - where that we lacked speed and run to assist the 'grunt' we had.
Now that's he's out, we've lost his grunt yes - but we still haven't found the run. And he won't help that.
Basically, he'll improve us because he's a really good footballer. But he won't 'fix' us.
