Bumity, bump, bump.

The Poodles have started to cotton-on, and have been trying for a premiership points game or two at the Western Oval.

St Kilda and the Junction Oval are way more exciting than Dogscray.

'Issues' with the Moorabbin redevelopment.

Next state election now only two years away (Nov 2018).

Andrews government continually doing its best to shoot itself in the Trentham, uh, I mean, in the foot.

Unless Crooked Bed really 'excels' himself with his Rudd-esque campaign in Canberra, and succeeds in also tarring the state branches, then a change of government here in Vic could well be on the cards...

I have just seen footage of Nick taking to the old Social Club with a Sledgehammer. Sad but exciting at the same time.

That Saints disco on a Friday night was great. Such a shame to see things like that go by the way side for the sake of progress.

The other old grounds didn't demolish everything. Bulldogs members side stands are still there, most Carlton stands are there as are Collingwood's. Junction Oval stand is still there as are two stands at Glenferrie Oval. Why did they have to get rid of everything at Moorabbin? It's just a suburban oval now. We should just have stayed at Seaford and saved our money

No... where you train is vitally important!!!!

How are you supposed to recruit players if they have to drive an extra 20 mins??? To work!

We need to head back to our spiritual home (where only a handful of players ever trained at, and 2 players ever played at)... it's where our rich history of success comes from... if we train at Moorabbin, we will get at least another 15 geezers to training and non members will sign up, because the reason they do not, is because of our training ground!!!!

Agree 100%

Everyone is entitled to an opinion except for wanting to stay at Outer Seaford.

Really dumb idea that one. We only ended up there due to utter incompetence.

Jack - do you honestly think people would've donated already over $5M towards upgrading Seaford?

I jumped at the opportunity to donate to Moorabbin. Yes it's a shame the stands are going but maybe we had no choice.

There is no way in hell I have ever or would ever give a cent towards anything to do
With that embarrassing hole/mistake that is Seaford. I've never see the joint and have no intention to visit there.

Largely true. Unfortunately. :(

But, how was that allowed to happen???

And surely it could have been fixed.

We could have been playing selected home games there this past decade...
instead of paying to play selected home games at Dockedlands this past decade.

However, and it won't happen overnight, but JO remains the end game.

For those who don't get why it does matter where we are based, Matt nails it here when he talks about 'spirit'. Re-establish the club's spirit, then everything else can follow.

JO is the go. JO is the end game.

This can be us too!!! This bloody well should be us too!!!!!!

How much money has relinquishing our own home ground cost us???

How much money have our our pokies cost us???

Come on Saintas!!! It's time to start making plans to secure our future. To secure our rightful place as a powerhouse club of the competition. To become the best known Australian sporting club - domestically, and internationally.

Is that figure gross or net? (I know it's gross in one sense.) Other clubs gouge $20 million or more out of struggling socio-economic communities. So $1.5 million isn't actually all that much in the grand scheme of things. Conversely, Nuff Nuff have no pokies. Hillbillys are looking to be free of pokies.

However, forgetting the morality:
- The pokies are the reason Archie Bloody Fraser sent us to purgatory. How many millions has that cost us...?
- The league as a whole would like to be Pokies may well not be a sustainable addiction for so-called 'family' clubs and their ilk.
- Move to JO, pokie-free, and we'd gain way way more than $1.5 million in extra revenue sources.

Pokie-free? It's not just morality, its also hard nosed good solid business sense.

ausfatcat wrote: Also when the gov gives us 90 mil to build a stadium I think we will
Firstly, we don't need $90 mil to build a stadium. AFL games are already played at (very) small crowd capacity venues in Canberra, Cairns, Darwin, Alice Springs, Lonny, Hobart, Shanghai'd (10,000 capacity). JO hosted 26,000 at the last Community Cup.

What I'm saying is we don't need a huge capacity stadium.
Hillbillies net $825K with an average crowd of 26,000.
We pay Dockedlands $73K for a home ground crowd of that size? (30,000 is our break even point.)
And despite the AFL taking over ownership, no new deal appears to be in sight.

Financially - it's a no brainer.

Secondly. Once back and settled at JO, not $90 million. Not straight away. But, we would end up getting plenty of $$$ poured in to help development of the ground. That's just one advantage of sharing with other switched on and like-minded sporting organizations.

But it wouldn't stop there. There's also the marketing. Finally leveraging into what no other vanilla team can match... our birthplace... funky town St Kilda. 8-) Do it right, and we can become the best known Australian sporting club - domestically, and internationally.

The Fireman wrote:the JO is the GO
