Before I start - I need to make 2 points:
1 - Stats cannot be used to extrapolate accurately but can give a guide; and
2 - I cannot accept mediocrity from people who are paid damned good money to kick a piece of pig skin through a gap in two sticks of wood, and miss, however ......
Looking at 40.54 for three games made me wonder how that compares with past seasons, and whilst past seasons have been closer to 50% scoring ratios - one thing astounded me if you extrapolate the three games scoring out to a full 22 games, and that is:
Year Goals Behinds Points
2017 293 396 - 2154
2016 286 237 - 1953
2015 241 249 - 1695
2014 212 208 - 1480
2013 251 245 - 1751
2012 345 277 - 2347
So based on this we could be on track for the best scoring year since 2012 and apart from that year since 2009
Now if we can reverse our poor kicking and bring it back to 50/50 (yet maintain the same number of scoring shots) we would be on track to score a possible 345.345 - 2415 which is our best scoring since those heady days of 2004/05

Re: Goal Scoring
Agree 100%! This season according to AFL data the average behinds per game are 9.9 where we are averaging 15+ the HIGHEST of any team. The next teams are 11.7 who are Adelaide and Collingwood. We turn this around and we improve. Also our inside 50s don't look good but we actually take plenty of marks upon entry and hit the scoreboard. More midfield dominance with some much better goal kicking conversions and we improve a hell of a lot.
Re: Goal Scoring
If we kick accurately at goal on Sunday we will beat Collingfilth. Simple as that really.
