No Petracca? Didn't he play the sort of game that has some labelling him as the greatest player of the next 10 years? Perhaps the coaches know nothing.

Or maybe he was Melbourne's 5th best... in a team that played really well, and smoked us?

BTW
In the words of Dennis Commetti
"Riewoldt, remarkable!"

Is it an indictment that he was the only winner we had, and still carries the team?

Did anyone make such a claim?

I think the discussion was more along the lines of the merits of picking Paddy v Petra

One comment suggested we would regret picking Paddy for the next fifteen years. There were numerous comments on what an outstanding game he had and how he showed up our youngsters. There were also comments rating him from the future best all up, to elite, to top five in the competition. I don't have the time and inclination to dig them all out, but some pretty big claims about Petracca have been made on here in the past 48 hours. You could be excused for thinking that he was BOG or close behind Gawn and Oliver.

I really rate the kid and have all along, but I saw the game. He did some really good things and 23 touches and a couple of goals is a good return, but I think the coaches were right in their voting, and no, I don't think he was sixth best on the ground and just missed the votes. Plenty were better than him for Melbourne, and a couple of ours would've beaten him into the votes as well. I think his worth was inflated by those determined to talk him up in order to deride our recruiting efforts.

Pretty disturbing that we couldn't a single player - besides a 34 year old - in the top 7 players on the day.

Not as you expected though. You didn't have Shuey in your best five players.

Ridiculous that the afl top 10 highlights of the round mentions zero of Roo's effort

well done Dunstan, getting a nod against a very good Lions midfield.

People just expect that he does this every week, so it doesn't seem out of the ordinary when he dominates a game.

One coach gave either Jarryn or Dylan 5 votes and the other gave him none.

Roberton got 28 touches but did he seem lethargic to anyone? Turned it over, seemed to have less awareness, rolled through he motions. Seemed sick?

Just not robbo like. I trust him as a player and he didn't seem himself.

Could be just me though - saw he was in some 'team of the week' tweet on Twitter.

TOTAL AFTER 6
Roberton 15 - 4 games
Ross 15 - 2 games
Steven 14 - 2 games
Roo 12 - 2 games
Joey 7 - 1 game
Webster 6 - 2 games
Stevens 6 - 1 game
Steele 4 - 1 game
Membrey 2 - 2 games
Dunstan 2 - 1 game
