Guys I'm staggered at the 'eat our own' mentality within our club.
I was probably guilty of my comments re Saynta as well which I regret now even though he potted me.
Let's stick together Saints.....Strength through Loyalty!
 As Thomas said to Buckley, and I quote " Don't let my uninformed, unlearned, ignorant view perturb you if it's not true. Otherwise deal with it."

I also feel a bit guilty and slightly embarrassed with my comments, so peace bro.

Seriously hope we are not going for O'Meara. Titanic waiting to hit an iceberg. Medical schmedical.

Can see Billy for a second rounder as some others have said.

However a lot are just chatter and don't come off.
Can tell you we are getting approaches from lots of managers via players who want to join us which is very exciting.
I will not talk about players we are trading out because it is not fair on them yet but two are under serious consideration both of which may get us approximately a second round pick each.
And in response to earlier messages will definitely not be Tom Hickey.
Steele will be a Saint for sure if he leaves GWS which is not 100% decided yet.
We are very very interested in JOM subject to a stringent medical test and are in final 3 of teams he would be happy to join.
In fact I would say if we are really satisfied with his medical he will be a Saint and we can satisfy GC and won't be selling the farm or our future, but he will cost and you must give to get.
People high up at our club think he could be the best footballer in competition when fit.
We are desperate for another backman as well and are keen on a recent b & f winner from one of the teams in the finals who was left out of his side this round.
And MC Gusto no re Laverde, we prefer WH-E from Giants for that type.
That's the update for now will try and keep all loyal Saints fans updated throughout trade period as always so you get the news first but can the moderators block people like Saynta seeing the Intel I share for loyal Saints fans?
Jaxons, I understand he has had that medical some weeks ago. Do you have any idea as to to the result?
Why would he broadcast that here?
Everyone knows his knee is shot.
In answer to your question as to why "he would broadcast that here?"

1. His original post indicated that any medical may be prospective and I've asked him whether he's aware that there has been a club medical and if so does he know the results

and

2. Why not? Particularly, if, as you say, O'Meara's knee didn't stand up to scrutiny. What is to be lost by saying so?

Surely jaxons cant be expected to know the absolute exact nature of any medical reports.

jaxons has said we are interested but there are other clubs interested as well.

I doubt anyone other than maybe 3 or 4 people would be privy to the full medical details of JOM. Dr-Patient confidentiality still exists even when you are AFL player.
I doubt any of us would want our personal medical records leaked to all and sundry.

More rumors coming out again that Rockliff might be traded. Do we have any interest?

That means we can essentially retire Dempster and Fisher and develop Goddard at a sensible pace.
E McKenzie, Roberton and Carlisle can do the heavy work for the next few seasons and then Goddard can eventually replace McKenzie.

That would be the idea but I wouldn't think we'd retire Dempster

28 y.o. 196cm taken pick 29 in the 2006 draft (same as Armitage), B&F 2014,
Anterior cruciate ligment right knee kept him out for all of 2015.
Maybe a tad too old but would slot in well to replace Chips or Dempster with a bit more height.
BUT he is not a free agent.
He is contracted until the end of 2017 so we would have to trade.
They will want Acres

I would be into his agent to come across as a free agent aged 29 y.o. at the end of next year.
We need to be patient.

Acres for a 29yo bloke playing in the WAFL?
That is comical. Not even close. 2nd rounder at most for McKenzie.

The only idea I hate more than us getting Jaeger and him failing is Essendon getting him for free in the draft & he becomes a star.

Damo just said on Triple M that he wouldn't be surprised if Jaeger's management happily let him go into the draft because the relationship with the Suns is now in tatters.

Maybe we could get him with just a second rounder if we convince him that we're a better destination than Essendon?

Even Jaeger at 70% is a bargain for a second rounder.

Happy to pay a 2nd rounder for JOM.
Of course we dont have a 2nd rounder but Longer & Savage may be trade bait for that purpose.

Interesting that we would be chasing another Key Back, must have missed out on 'One' we made a serious play for!!!!!
McKenzie is 29 next year, not sure he fits our age profile...
I was going to guess Eastern Wood - but he's injured, and was not left out - right?
Barking up the wrong tree.
Wood 187cm did win B&F in 2015 but Doggies gave him a 3 year extension.
They would want McCartin then have us to take over Tom Boyd complete with his exorbitant contract as well.

Barrett....lol

Obviously leaked by O'Meara's management to ensure GC play ball & trade O'Meara without being too greedy. Essendon are mear pawns. You can rule them out.

Furthermore, the AFL would never let that happen.

I wouldn't put anything past the Bombers, Barret wasn't the first to suggest this, but yep he does like the sound of his own name.

I've got no doubt the info passed to Barrett is correct. But the point is, the GC CEO said he'd gladly send O'Meara to the draft. O'Meara's manager thru Barrett have retaliated with "threaten all you want we'd be glad to go to the Bombers".

I'm happy to go on record & state O'Meara will certainly not be a Bomber.

Precisely....id be interested to know if O'Meara had the Bombers as one of his three preferences. Saints, Hawks &....Blues IMO.

Can also tell you Fisher will be removed from senior list but perhaps rookied back for next year similar to what we did with Schneider in 2015 as back up if required.
Depends on what we accomplish during trade and draft.
He is aware of this already so happy to share.

I hope there is room to rookie Chips. As I posted somewhere else today, I thought the Schneids/Lonie/Sincs mentor experiment was a good one. Hugh, DMac and White would be the beneficiaries.
