Craps all over Jihad. Better atmosphere, more space and cheaper and better food.

Yes I'm a biased MCC member and hope we play 6 games there next year

They won't give us many games next year.
Bombers, the Filth, Hawks, Roos, Bluescum, and Tigers, will all be looked after first and foremost.
(not in that order)

Not sure about the cheaper and better food.

I took myself back into the AFL reserve with virtually level 1 Ponsford Stand food stands closed for the duration.

For a steak sandwich and coke zero $16.90

Chips at Red Rooter in the MCC are $4.20 drinks the same.

Docklands is without doubt the finest venue to WATCH the footy. Absolute best. Of course the other baggage that goes with it is another matter

Name all the stadiums you have actually watched a game at.

I was in the level 1 afl reserve today and they had 2 proper food outlets open. TWO! FFS!! And they were packed as you'd expect.

Pretty good atmosphere there today.
So good to have the roof open and see footy played outdoors.

The GF will always be at the G in our lifetimes so playing well and winning there is vital.

How many AFL games do you attend each season?

Newnes appears to love it too. On both matches at the "G" he has ripped it up, he was dominant against the Pies there early in the season appears he like the wide open spaces to run

This!

Couldn't agree more! Was awesome there yesterday. No roof, swirling breeze and footy played the way it should be!

s***s all over Etihad

The MCG will always be the spiritual home of AFL. However, the dome without doubt, has to be the VERY best ground of all for viewing the game. Level two in particular gives a great view while being still close to the action. Another point in favour of the dome is the amazing atmosphere that can be generated there, I'm thinking of that marvellous match in 2009 V Geelong. But d'you know what? Ive been to see the Saints play footy at almost every AFL venue; AAMI Park Adelaide, The Gabba, Subiaco, Carrara (old) Metricon, and ANZ Sydney as well as the Victorian grounds and each one of them has had things "for" and "against" I tend to be more concerned about the footy than the price of food. Incidentally, can anyone tell me why the Ponsford yesterday had so few food outlets open?

Etihad >>>>>>better than the G. No atmosphere at the G. Parking a nightmare. Too far away from the play. And to cap it off the place just smells bad.

Both Melbourne venues have their good and not so good points. Ive been critical of Southern Cross station, but NOTHING compares to the mess trying to negotiate a way into Richmond station post game, yesterdays crowd meant that it wasnt so much of a nightmare, but after a well attended game its horrendous! BUT after a good win like that against Carlturd WHO CARES!

Sat on Level 2 for Richmond v Collingwood (friend had corporate tickets) and then at on Level 4 yesterday.

It really is a battle being up in the heavens, I have to say.

Lots to love about the 'G but I honestly reckon it's going to get harder and harder to drag people through the gates in the future.

We need smaller, more intimate venues to generate the right level of atmosphere. There was virtually none yesterday.

Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

This time I walked to the station via the tennis centre fir the first time and far less of a crowd cush.

My concern is the MCG can have all of the security it likes, but after that Collingwood game 25m crawl which took close to 20 mins made me very conscious about the lack of security at Richmond and I imagine Jolimint would have had similar crowd crushes.
