Let’s just hope it’s the same as last time and the scan shows nothing. Can’t think of a player who has had a worse run with hamstrings, he can’t even get on the park to play a VFL reserves game.

It's more than a worry, and has Jesse Smith written all over it unfortunately. Hasn't even got over 3/4 pace yet. It's extremely hard to put a positive spin on the whole situation atm.

Let's hope it's only very minor, or it's in his head. Sad to see this happening to any footballer, let alone one of our own. Chin up Nathan.

I'm no expert but id honestly be looking at sending him to Europe or the US. The sport science tech they have over there runs rings around what we can offer. The other avenue id be exploring is seeing how Melbourne Victory and Melbourne Heart kept Harry Kewell fit. Now hes a player who suffered chronic injuries. whether or not that was down to habits is besides the point. Now im 110% behind the kid and i reckon he'll become a star when fit. He reminds me of a Luke Shuey/Jack Steven type. I think the main thing at hand is ensuring that he doesnt go the route of Jesse Smith, Xavier Clarke or even Jason Cripps. Becoming a player that had so much potential but the body constantly let them down. i do like how cautious the club are being and you can see they treading very carefully with his rehab. Its obviously not great to hear hes had some tightness and lets just hope its that. But if this kid gets up and firing on all cylinders the second rounder we paid for him will look like a packet of chips.

2013 was a super draft but coincidentally Collingwood had two x top 10 picks who have managed only 4 games between them (Freeman & Scharenberg).

He was a gamble from word go. At this stage, this gamble doesn't seem to be paying off. Fingers crossed he'll be okay for next year.

Awesome :D

I'm not sure I have played the man ever. I certainly get on people's nerves like you and Kosi :D

Not sure I resort to name calling though. I am willing to cop being called a 'flog' but I don't know about 'arrogant'. Seems excessive.

Nonetheless. I will take your sage advice and mind my own business.

How about that local kids sports side? They are on a roll!

No concerns from me. its very early days in his career. He'll get all the time required to come good, its not as if he's 30

At the moment his name is Expensiveman.
If they don't change the way they are treating him he will never make it.
They need to be far more conservative - allowing the hamstrings to heal for half a year but constantly stretching those hamstrings until they are as loose as a prostitute.
Never doing something that can tighten or tear those hammies.
Face it he is not going to play seniors this season so stop trying to rush him along.

Imagine going into the 2016 draft and Collingwood calls out a player with OUR second round draft pick.
Not a problem if we have got value for that pick but seriously embarrassing if we got nothing.
Collingwood will be laughing - we gave you nothing for Luke Ball and we gave you nothing for your second round pick.

The more you know, the more you know you don't know.
When I was a young child, I knew that I knew so much about so much.
Now that I am old and know so much more, I know that I know so much about so little, and so little about so much.

The beauty of this year's draft is Collingwood wont have a pick in the top 20. Beautiful.

The lord of SS has spoken.

I'm a member, have been for a very long time, i'm therefore allowed to comment... also, I don't mind if another supporter, (who has no need to shell out the coin due to circumstances different to mine) makes a comment.

only an arrogant f*** would!!!!

if the biggest thing I've got in my favour when making a comment, is that it's valid because I shelled out cash, my opinion is relevent.
Then i'd be a moron....

also,
resorting to standard of literacy as a credibility point, also shows lack of ability to argue the actual point... therefore a desperate need to redirect.

btw
it doesnt look good for Nathan

To my non expert eye on body development or physiology, Freeman looks like a kid that has built up muscle and upper body bulk at a very early stage in his growth - looked like a man child we he was first drafted by Collingwood. I think he should fine down, let his body develop naturally, get the bulk off his torso & not put so much stress on his lower back and legs by being over developed with muscle.

You might have a valid point there Loris.
