Where is Longer? We got him from the Lions but haven't heard abt him. Is he injured?

He's fallen into that second choice ruck limbo that rucks tend to do - its pretty brutal in the ruck world with selection with sometimes only one spot in the firsts. AFter his shoulder reco they nursed him back slowly and Hicks took the oppo and ran with it. Then they've been trying Billy forward quite a bit in the VFL to see what he can do - not well to be honest from what I saw but its to try and add another string to his bow which is forward thinking. I think they fully expect hicks to get up today and hence Holmes is emergency so Longer can get a full game.
Long way to go with rucks. Hickey needs to show he is durable enough to get through a full season rucking. Billy is still young for a ruck - he has the physicality and attitude but needs to add the effectiveness around the ground. Hicks is showing plenty around the ground but needs to build the body and strength to match the very best big rucks in the biz consistently without breaking down.
