This was the first game I ever saw live. Aged 8. All I remember was the build up to the game as it was to be a surprise but my Mum told me in advance, getting in the car, being behind the goals, that Plugger did not play. Maybe Fode at full forward or even Freeman at full forward?? However I do not have a record. Good luck finding the list. Aldo diPetta may have played also?

was it the Last time there was a players strike?
1 West Coast replaced Brisbane, who were forced to withdraw due to financial problems and a player's strike.

I was at that game! I remember Lockett wasn't there and Rod Owen may have kicked a few that night!

When Harvey played his first game in 1988, I was a 12yo wearing short pants and struggling with my readin', writin' and 'rithmetic in grade eight. Now, I'm a father of three and a retired AFL player. And he's still going. Amazing! - Michael Voss

Harvey-( he's going to be a great player said Dennis C)
Loewe, Burke, Winmar- magic, Frawley, Freeman, Harding, Owen, Nixon, Jones ( bob?), Kitschke, Kourkoumelis, Arnol, Dwyer, Grant, Taylor

lots of new players for both teams as it was first game of the year- new draftees. several times Dennis had to resort to The St Kilda Player.

Fitzroy- Rendell, Pert, Roos, Kickett, matera, Scott Clayton,

I always thought Freeman was going to make it.
He hung around for a few years and played well in the reserves.

But didn't cut it in the ones - though had limited opportunities.

Freeman was OK.

Yes it was Bob Jones. Laconic and likeable player.

He went to school at Peninsula Grammer with Stewie Loewe.
