Reality check
We have not beaten anyone in the top 8 this entire season.
I know last night was a great win. And its nice to be playing finals footy. But people getting a tad ahead of themselves when you consider this fact.
If we beat the Blues - by all means take the lid off

The game against Sydney was always going to be hard as besides the two who withdrew, we had 3 other players who had gastro during the week. i think we can beat them next time.
Also the matches against Geelong (Round 1) and Carlton, were 1 point and 3 points and could have gone either way.(the other sides both kicked goals in the last seconds to pinch tham)

the pies were totally inaccurate for a period last year, then they got it all goin' on. for me it's a good sign for the finalsDan Warna wrote:I think I'm going in with eyes wide open and hope.
I think our biggest problem is our accuracy in front of goal, thats the only thing that Ross doesn't seem able to drill our players with.

last night was good.
but it was against a very average opponent at etihad on a sat night.
was the result in any doubt aside from the question mark over gastro?
if we can beat carlton in a high skill match at the mcg i might start getting excited, but last night we didn't do any more than expected imo.

Reality Check is what the bombers are getting at present
Can Port hang on ?
have Hirdy and Bomber been too clever for themselves in manipulting their team for this last round.. I know makes no differance but psyche is everything at this end of the year.

The 'experts' seemed to be leaning towards the idea that North Melbourne (based on thier demolition of undermanned Freo) had finally 'arrived' adn were going to take our spot in the final 8.
It simply amazes me that every time we put in a good preformance there are many looking for ways to 'downgrade' it rather than admit that it was just a 'good performance'.

If I knew the Dons weren't going to try I would've plonked a G on Port and happy days all round!saintbrat wrote:Reality Check is what the bombers are getting at present

Con is right....except about west coast.
We have only beaten west coast.
Of course i would prefer to lose to them all during the season then win when it counts.
Would have beaten carlton and geelong with a bit of luck.
Would have beaten colligwood with some more accurate kicking.
Can. Beat. Anyone in the league if a few tiny things go right.

That's the first thing I thought of when I saw the OP - plus WC Eagles.longtimesaint wrote:........Also the matches against Geelong (Round 1) and Carlton, were 1 point and 3 points and could have gone either way.(the other sides both kicked goals in the last seconds to pinch tham)
People want to knock them down after just about every win.
