Very Encouraging

Post: # 1119614Post carnasaints55 »

We never went defensive. There was one point where they had 8 backwards kicks to our 1. Thats an encouraging sign and gives a good picture of how Ross wants us to play. Also, the endeavor was there right until the end.

Anything can happen in finals and we showed that we DESERVE to be there.

Kidding yeah....

How the mighty have fallen....we accept honorable losses nowadays....

Looked like a premiership team, against a group of hard working battlers...

Agree , we played well in patches but , they looked too good all night .
If we had more scoreboard pressure in the 3rd , we may have been a chance but poor kicking has hurt us once again.

Something to work with anyway. The injection of some youth/pace/skill next year will be gold.

58 points last time, 19 this time.

20 scoring shot to 19.

Battlers?

Nah.

agree

even with the bad 10 minutes we had early in the 3rd.... hadve kicked straight we wouldve got em

easy misses is what killed us...

and to reduce the margin from 58 last time to 19 this time is massive

i think come finals mentally we should be up because it was our lack of skill at crucial times that got us (goddards misses, milnes miss, polos miss, even maccas miss)

what shouldve been easy goals... werent so hold heads up high sainters our season still has plenty left in it

We're not accepting a close loss as a good effort. I'm just as disappointed as anyone we couldn't get up last night, but we gave it our best effort and we'll learn from this.

I accept we are not a top team this year - since midway through the year all I've wanted is to make the finals. Since three weeks ago (prior to Adelaide match), all I wanted was to win a final.

Now I think a suitable goal to aim for is to get to a Semi final and give it a real crack. I've accepted we probably won't be making a third consecutive (or technically fourth) Grand Final this year, I've accepted we may not even make the second or third week.

I'm keeping the faith.

Collingwood looked very very good last night, we did not. But we didn't look as far off the pace as we did ten weeks ago. We've got a long way to go, but I can see plenty of upside for us. That, to me is what is encouraging.

I think that's a bit of a myth.
