Jones
3 handballs to half time. It hurts me to say but he's gotta go back and get some form. He had one of the best pre-seasons last year I've seen, but can't get anywhere near the ball this year.
Gehrig emerged from scans yesterday saying he was "as sweet as a bun"

I would love to see your Gehrig back down forward. Fletcher would need to be accountable at least.Munga wrote:3 handballs to half time. It hurts me to say but he's gotta go back and get some form. Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.
You need to protect the ball handler to increase posession efficiency

hes gone. no attack. no defence. no impact. just a spectator. has been awful for 12 months if we want to face facts.Munga wrote:3 handballs to half time. serious existential crisis on his afl career IMHO. Needs to go back to vfl. Hes just treading water at AFL now. been like that for a while.
was great in 09. but hes dining out on 09 meals and the food has gone off and hes off his tucker.

It just boggles the mind how quickly he went into a tailspin.savatage wrote:Sad but I think may be the case.Sainternist wrote:So you're virtually saying "stick a fork in him"?savatage wrote:We've gotten as much out of him as we could I think.
Add insult to injury, we have a bunch of other guys who look like they want to hang up their boots pretty soon.

The game has passed a player like Jones by sadly. If you lack the basic skills as he does, you are a liability now.
Gilbert is another one whose kicking skills have not improved at all.
we have to have a long hard look at these type of players and make some hard decisions at the end of the year.
Right now, I am tempted to offer Gilbert as trade bait for either a good swap or early draft picks.
That is right now, what I'd like Gilbert to do is show how good he can be so that we don't trade him.

Except for the sanity nothing much has been lost.
