2003 heritage jumper

Post: # 1035680Post SydneySainter »

Probably our most popular of the four heritage tops. So much so that it became our clash top.

Was anyone ever lucky enough to get their hands on a match worn or authentic player issue 03 heritage jumper?

Until we have an administration that demands success and a playing group that bleeds for the guernsey, St. Kilda will just be a sh*tty football club.

I bought one of those at the B&F in 2003 - I love it, definitely my favourite so far.

I have been wearing to every game since. Fell in love with Riewoldlt that year an had his number and got his signature on it straight away.

Seen some highs and lows in that one.
Was hoping to frame it after we won the flag with the amount of games I've been to in it on a placard underneath.

Not sure whether a change is in order though...

"When we get back on November 5 and walk through that door, we're getting on a bus together and we're going down the road to a premiership. You're either on the bus or you get run over," Roo at the B&F 2007

In 2012, I'm still on the bus.

Would be interested to see the difference between them, if anyone has any photos. I have one, but no idea which year it is.

The Heritage Jumper worn in Round 19, 2003 had slightly thinner (and thus more) stripes than the version adopted as the clash jumper the next year.

The jumper worn in Round 7 of 1996 was (I think) a little closer to the "original" jumper worn in 1897, and had thicker stripes (we also wore the thinly-hooped black and red socks in that game).

(Is that what you meant?)

Yes that is what I mean't. I definately have the 2003 version. I came across the web site that shows all gernseys worn to 2009 -

this is wrong and missing something from 33-52 because when I was a kid in the 50's we had a white back and sleeves for quite a while then went to the black back and sleeves w white numbers
I'm talking Keith Drinan through to Neil Roberts etc definitely predominantly white jumper w sleeves /back and can remember the quantum leap to a predominantly black jumper in the mid to late 50's !!!

anyway I just loved the candy striped heritage design and wish we still wore it as an away strip

I wonder if the owner of these pictures know the site is using them?

If not, they have been ripped off of his page without his consent.

Will have to check.
