Bring back former posters

I believe this place could prosper with the right administration and I have proposed to BackfromUSA that we go to the forum with a debate over various types of community based ownership where there is possibly a shareholder and voting type arrangement, and possibly a constitution that governs administration. I believe that if we think-tank this properly as a community and come up with the right model then it could work, because really when you think about it, this place has largely self-managed and regulated itself for most of its existence and with a little work that model could be formalised to help make the place survive and prosper well into the future.

The most intelligent thing I have read on this forum in many years.

Since that time there have been no new members of Saintsational. I assume it is an admin function to admit new members.
On this link, you can see they were getting one new member a day approximately until July 10 when it suddenly stopped.

This is the point I think we failed to address back in the Forum Makeover thread started on 5 July 2013. It certainly was mentioned by posters in that thread but not really taken up for serious debate and discussion.

What power do we have as a community to change anything here?

The admin are essentially absent, and BFUSA is the only Mod, or so it seems. He should be commended for his effort and willingness to take on a thankless task, however the forum suffers from not having a consensus in moderation. We are therefore at the whim of his moral judgement, which gathering from posted comments, is more narrow than a large number of posters.

To protest is to have all your posts examined for any inkling of rule breaking, with the faintest suggestion of malfeasance met with either suspension or warning.

Been there.... copped that.

Strong argument in my opinion for a revolution to occur regarding ownership and management of this site. Cairnsey has the right idea, but I fear that personal agendas and egos will prevent this. (And I'm not talking about you there BFUSA.)

Isn't just amazing...

This site SCREAMS out for some form of moderation due to the nature of threads being hijacked and certain individuals plainly baiting others for their own enjoyment.

BFUSA steps up to the plate and begins to change that. Things start to change but its just not good enough. He has now become 'Power hungry' and should be able to be an Admin not just a Mod. Where were these people when this forum was sinking so fast that good posters who had been around for such a long time left? Why didn't they put the hand up to do something about it? Why is it that they find it easier to complain and badger and accuse whilst trying to disguise it as 'debate' and then get aggressive when they are called out about it.

What I find amazing is that those people have hijacked this thread which was supposed to be about those old posters who would brighten up this place.

Now have most people dropped off because of that or it the new age of facebook and the like. Its a bit of catch 22 because if the same people dont post then maybe no one discusses topics with them so there is bugger all discussion or would more people post if the same people didnt post. My guess is if the top of 10% posters didnt post then there would be way less activity due to all the other avenues for having your say these days.
