Why can’t our recruiters find ready made players like Tom Stewart or Tim Kelly?

I think we have recruited a few but ‘game planned’ their talent out of them.

Just look at the under 18 highlights of a few our draft picks.

Could play. Now struggling.

Think we tried that with Milera, Saad and Lee. All now gone and retired from AFL.

I think the Saints need to go for a ready made player or two around the 23-25 year old mark next year. They come cheap anyway but lets still draft the best 18 year old kids with our first 3 picks.

Poor recruiting + poor player development = St Kilda 2018

Is it poor recruiting, poor development or a combo?

As woeful as Billings & Gresh are atm, would they be stars playing in a better team?

Until we have an administration that demands success and a playing group that bleeds for the guernsey, St. Kilda will just be a sh*tty football club.

Hard to answer.

But let’s use St Kilda’s recruitment method.

Signs point to yes.

Well that’s it IMO...

I think our recruiters are a super easy target when the reality is that we’ve recruited a plethora of players that have started really really well and completely stalled in their development.

Saad, Milera, Lee, Siposs, Billings, Gresh, DMac, Lonie, Newnes, Webster... on and on it goes.

One can’t imagine someone that can pick that wrong so consistently.

Maybe we could start to improve by putting together a recruitment team and a development team.

Now that I am old and know so much more, I know that I know so much about so little, and so little about so much.

A decent one at that. I hate to say I told you so about Elshaug and his team of numpties, but didn't I tell you?

"Is this the right room for an argument?"
"I told you once."
"No, you didn't."
"Yes, I did."
"Listen, an argument isn't just the automatic gainsaying of anything the other person says, it's a series of statements designed to support a particular conclusion."
"No, it isn't."
"Oh, I've had enough of this."
"No you haven't"
"Oh shut up."

FTFY - I do not think the recruitment is the problem - I think it is the shackles we put on the kids once they don the RW&B.

The guys who we need to step up - would be tearing it up elsewhere - and this will be proven when they elect to go elsewhere.

Ok trivia question in three parts.

What sporting team did Puddy supprt?

What sport did the play?

What letter of their name did he have painted on his chest at the game?

I cant remember either, but D for devils sounds right and I think it was ice hockey.

Better resort to googling the details.

Well done re the D for devils.

I'll give you 1.5/3 for that.

It was the New Jersey Devils and it was ice hockey.

As for the Saints I thinl we should all get to the game on Saturday wearing a painted A on our chests (the A is definitely not for Alan or maybe it is come to think of it!).
