Re: Hickey vs. Stanley
Wouldnt surprise me if Hickey doesnt play. Geelong dont have a ruckman, plus its likely to rain. If so, Battle to come in, Hickey goes out, Marshall rucks Gilbo/Acres help out i am thinking.saintspremiers wrote:These are both ins for each side.

In wet slippery conditions it will be more like watching Torvill & Dean.BringBackMadDog wrote:It won’t be a very physical contest that’s for sure.

Re: Hickey vs. Stanley
If Hickey can't beat Stanley in ruck contests and around the ground then he is career over.
The more you know, the more you know you don't know.
When I was a young child, I knew that I knew so much about so much.
Now that I am old and know so much more, I know that I know so much about so little, and so little about so much.

Re: Hickey vs. Stanley
Hickey should really smash him.
But he wont.
But he wont.

Two weeks normally but for a St Kilda player three weeks.bigred wrote:Hickey should really smash him.

Hasn't played a game and has to be best afield
I know one thing watching Grundy burn up the ground last night
Hickey and Marshall are the closest to him on our list

Re: Hickey vs. Stanley
This subject heading is too long, but it would be interesting to analyse;
"Geelong coaches attitude to Stanley vs. St Kilda coaches attitude to Hickey"
So, in other words, you have a playing list that has to follow the coaches instructions; trust the coach; believe in the coach etc. I have a feeling that the poor leadership from Richo has permeated into the playing group and has affected Hickey's confidence.
Who does the Saints coach think is the first option for ruck? When Longer was performing poorly, Hickey should have come into the side in 2017. The fact that Richo did not provide Hickey opportunities last year was very detrimental. When he did bring him in, it was probably due to necessity and Hickey might have been underdone and not ready. Al in all, bad coaching.
I think Chris Scott has been able to bring in players like Stanley at the right time to perform at their best. This doesn't happen accidently. You have to put faith in your players and help support thoer growth as a player.
Richo has failed to do this with Hickey
