SOS - Save Our Saints

Post: # 1718433Post Sainternist »

MAYDAY, MAYDAY.

Forget Chicken Little and the sky falling cliche, our club is now in serious trouble. We are playing Geelong on the rebound at Kardinia Park next Sunday and all signs are pointing to us getting absolutely flogged, as the Milky Bar Kid and his cohorts have our team playing an unimaginative and one dimensional brand of football. The same will happen the week after that and then the week after that. The 2018 season will be like Bill Murray in Groundhog Day. The team is set to experience an existential crisis this season. This is really serious and could bring catastrophic results. The club's future will soon be in jeopardy, as our attendances will only dwindle further. The 10 million dollar debt will only increase and then the AFL will wield its axe.

Four years ago, The Milky Bar Kid promised us a top 8 team by 2018. He has taken us one step forward and now two steps back.

WE NEED SOMEONE TO STEP UP AND SAVE OUR CLUB VERY SOON.

SOS

Saints currently paying $9 for wooden spoon.
If we are as bad as some on here are suggesting maybe a small wager by the club is warranted
Result may help defray AR's payout if he is to be Khybered!

How about all you ballbags get off your computers and turn up to our games. That would help!

Hey, I was at last night's match. Were you? You don't think there's a problem? We'll still be drawing disappointing crowds if these types of performances persist.

Perhaps we can pick a draught with a decent and frothy head?

Of course I was there... I am always there. I always will be there. It would take a lot more than a miserable Good Friday to keep me away from my Saints! We are better than we look right now, footy is a funny but beautiful game!

We have power
- Lindsay Fox
- Eric Bana/Hollywood
- Molly/Music
- Warne

Put these 4 in a room and raise $15m
Pay debt off/debt plan - investments % debt
Buy clarko or beveridge or someone great and their assistants
Buy better recruiters
Hire bikers to “persuade” JKelly and Gaff to sign “reasonable” contracts
Extra cash payments in suitcase to Gresh, Acres, Marshall, Billings, Sinclair so they sign “very reasonable” contracts
Sell Webster, Longer, Hickey, Newnes for picks or delist the useless flogs.

Think im being crazy? This is what swans hawks cats collingwood do if we want to compete with scum we must become them and better.

I believe we have a lot of talent on the list and it would be waste to start again from such a weak point. We will get same result. Its time to play hardball. 2 year turnaround if we did this.

You can also add Michael Gudinsky to this group.

Is Lindsay Fox every around the club these days? I get the impression he still has a bad aftertaste from his tenure as club president in the 80s. The guy is a billionaire. 10 million is like chump change to him.

Lindsay Fox is a member of the. Carlton dirty dozen ... went over there to get the CUB transport contract from Elliott... To my knowledge Fox has never given anything to the Saints ... but greif

And the president said " I did not have sex with that woman"
And our former president said " Football is like golf" 

Lol draft..had too many draughts..
Is OK Felix...I appreciated the freudian typo...one may have to down a few draughts to recover from our potential draft position.

However, I am not as pessimistic as some on here....perhaps I am just too much of a positive person.

I can clearly understand we have some issues to overcome...and maybe that will involve the ending of a few playing, coaching or administrative careers at St Kilda...I don't know.

But I fail to see how slagging off at players, coaches or admin staff assists with anything...other than people maybe venting to relieve their frustrations.

My advice however is that anger is a waste of emotion...it solves nothing...and the only people it affects is yourself and those closest too you.

Just my opinion of course.

If you disagree...vent away.

I know someone who owns a very large private company who could chip in plenty if she wishes to. And is a passionate Sainter.

Jayne Bunns is a massive Sainter.

If she just donated part of her double D's to the club then half our debt would disappear overnight.

If by the end of the year we haven’t improved our situation I can assure you there’ll be a new ticket ready to take over. With finances.

Any details T74 if you are able to disclose?

That is "potentially" massive.

Good on you, Saynta. I actually convinced my new girlfriend (whom I met in January) to buy a membership. I felt bad about it in the last couple of weeks, but she's been great in saying the more their struggling the more she feels justified in signing up.
