Bottom 2 2018

Post: # 1718152Post The Recruit »

Just looking at our draw we might win 3 more games

Collingwood 50/50 rnd 9
Carlton rnd 17
Kangaroos rnd 23

So four wins
Unfortunately only 1 or 2 wins in 21 games though due to playing lions and Kangaroos week 1 and 23.

It would mean we finish bottom 2.

Unfortunately no 2nd rnd pick.....but would need to trade to get this back due to the elite draft. Might not be a bad year for pick one again....hopeful no key position forwards are in the mix for no. 1 pick.

Not sure Richo survives a bottom 2 finish either

Well I am hoping that the fact Richardson has a 3 year contract, it encourages him to persist with younger players rather than loading the side with our mature GOP's in the vain hope of scrapping a few more wins to save his job.

Massive list turnover coming up you'd think, shame we've sold our picks in this draft - means we won't have much currency to add quality to our list.

Even the lions will improve and they do have a home ground advantage.

Unfortunately for us, this club has a penchant for the spoons...

This

Maybe the board is more aware of our dire situation than we gave them credit for and Richo has been told to do whatever it takes this year to get the team in a good position for next year without fear of his contract being renewed!

Please make it so!

If you are going to finish near the bottom you may as well get the maximum reward that goes with the spoon.

Sold is a strange word to use, gave away is more accurate.
We swapped our 2018 super draft second round pick for the third last second round pick in 2017 (No 35)
Then to sweeten the deal we gave away 2017 picks 58 and 61 for the fourth round 2018 pick attached to Adelaide (maybe 72).

A monkey would not make such a stupid deal, it must have been a fresh water fish.

(Pick Nos as they occured during the draft).

I really don't think this club can survive another wooden spoon after already getting one in 2014 and botching that draft.

If we finish last or even second-last, we will continue to attract no star players and our handful of exciting youth like Acres and Membrey may very well want leave also.

If that happens, then we really are in rebuild mode all over again and with the club already $10 mill in debt, I just don't think they can survive it.

Until we have an administration that demands success and a playing group that bleeds for the guernsey, St. Kilda will just be a sh*tty football club.

The last 5 years under Richo, his assistants, the recruiters, president and board have seen us go exactly nowhere. A mess by anyone's standards.

I can't believe we are worse than Melbourne when it comes to rebuilding a list.
Luckily for them they got Paul Roos and Peter Jackson in to oversee a proper rebuild.

The Saints....
Pelchen
Bains
Trout
Collectively they had/have No idea.

Are we going to trust the next rebuild to Trout, will anyone turn up to games to watch it ?

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

We are in a worse position than we were back in the 2000-2002 era where we got belted every week, at least back then we could bottom out after some success in the late 90s and rebuild with good draft picks. Fast forward to 2018 and we are getting lower crowd numbers than ever before, have recruited horribly and have a coach that has been there with early picks and we are going backwards at a million miles an hour. Honestly can't remember a more dim time for this club..

It's a shame to see such a bright new prospect in Coffield, have to come into such a woeful team right now
