RBA Official Interest Rate

Post: # 1717699Post perfectionist »

At the moment, the Reserve Bank of Australia has set the Official Cash Interest Rate at 1.5%. This means that, if you invest $100 for one year, you will be paid back $101.50 at the end of those 365 days. There is virtually zero risk that you won't get your money.

Elsewhere, today, there is another offering. If you invest $100 for the next 10 hours, you might be paid back $137 around 10pm tonight. There is a chance that you might lose your money. I wonder how close to zero people think that risk is.

Remember: Please bet responsibly.

We're $3.25 which would give you back $325 for $100 (i.e up $225) so not sure on your math.

As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
