I'm surprised we're going with Marshall as solo ruck. Good luck young man!

And gooooo Coffield!

Jack Sinclair lucky to hold his place. Hope he can find form this week. Steele's form in the first two weeks has been bewildering, and it's a worry. Poor Tom Hickey. The coach has put a line through him. Astonishing.

Non contributors Long and McCartin survive but Steele and Stevens pay the price.
Like that Marshall finally gets a game BUT why is he first ruck.
He should be playing instead of non contributor McCartin and then as second ruck.
We need a first ruck.
The selection committee has fallen to the incompetence level of a fresh water fish that can be lured by flies.

Coffield was not among the best for Sandringham last week. Seems an odd selection. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to see him get a game, but is it on merit?

Is Hickey injured? If not he must be first ruck, Marshall second ruck and McCartin on his own sofa.

Sinclair very lucky. Newnes unscathed and it seems the small forwards including Gresh and JB getting away with too many poor games

Last chance for Sinclair imo. Steele has been down a bit on form but I would have kept him in the team against Adelaide at least

No way Long or McCartin were ever going to be dropped, both need to play on. Long was good last week, improving on his previous week. Steele and Stevens stunk...so did Sinclair.

Ruck decision is a tad strange, Gilbert couldn't be squeezed in? I'd be surprised if Hickey ever gets back after his efforts last year, I'm sure he'll be seeing out his career as emergency at best, sadly.

McCartin and Long were close to invisible for St Kilda last week. Don't get me wrong, I am not happy to see them get another game, they deserve a game for Sandringham on merit.
How can Long get a game ahead of Mav on merit.

Weller’s obviously pissed the coach off, as he’s not even an emergency.

Love the inclusions this week.

Steele must be like Samson, no good after a hair cut!!!

At last, a bit of dash shown at the selection table. I like it. What of Tom? Is it over?

"Is this the right room for an argument?"
"I told you once."
"No, you didn't."
"Yes, I did."
"Listen, an argument isn't just the automatic gainsaying of anything the other person says, it's a series of statements designed to support a particular conclusion."
"No, it isn't."
"Oh, I've had enough of this."
"No you haven't"
"Oh shut up."

Tom came back just once in 2017- the Bumbers' game, I think.
Underwhelming.
I don't dare believe it, but it appears Mr Fairy-Dust is actually using some common sense
in the selections, by not including Gilbo nor Tom,
instead going with a development flavour.

Perhaps he's expecting a defeat from the 2017 bridesmaids, and is going for an education instead of the usual insanity a la King Canute
