Saints can do a Richmond (2017) in 2019
It can happen
Don't sack the coach
Sack the longstanding assistants. No good in recent times - just groupthinkers
And bring in a large number of recruits from other clubs, similar to how Richmond brought in Prestia and Caddy. An FA or 2 would not go astray either

Richmond were a top 6 team and had made consecutive finals prior to 2016.
You’re dreaming.

The club is close to $10 mill in debt and Richo has two years left to run on his contract, so they won't be sacking him, even if they want to.
As for getting a FA or two, good luck finding any who'd want to play for us.

Until we have an administration that demands success and a playing group that bleeds for the guernsey, St. Kilda will just be a sh*tty football club.

Very true. Hawthorn got Mitchell and he alone has propelled the club in one year (along with a well run solid administration and financial base). We had no hope of getting him with our debt levels, failed Seaford move and our leaderless, average playing list.
Richo is sitting really pretty now as they already have been financially burned with Scott Watters' sacking and payout, coupled with knowing the club has an unhealthy 10 million debt that is likely to accumulate further.

I doubt Gilligan would let us sack TMBK. I bet he's already had a long chat with Finnis about the direction of the club and what ongoing plans there are. The Death Star is watching very closely. We become more dependent on it every day. Soon they'll make us do whatever they want. May as well move the AFL staff in at Moorabbin.

"No, you didn't."
"Yes, I did."

"No, it isn't."
"Oh, I've had enough of this."
"No you haven't"
"Oh shut up."

So you think that Roughead, Burgeon, Rioli etc do not help. Hawks still have many older players.

I do and they are great players but Mitchell has been that top tier, new blood that has given them a significant boost/edge in 2018. We need a quality A grader badly to make us less predictable but unfortunately they don't want to make the move to the Saints.saintsRrising wrote:saintkid wrote: Very true.
