Why do so many of our players lack the basic skills?

How the bloody hell does a team of AFL players make so many errors with their disposal and gathering of the ball?

On Friday, it was a continual litany of misdirected kicks and handballs, fumbling and bumbling in handling the football and frequent dropping of easy marks. Perhaps more than usual, but when the team actually performs well they're still sloppy. Are they are team of uncos or is it a case of our skills coaching simply not being up to snuff?

FAIR DINKUM, we're not even going to be able to beat an egg until this is remedied.

You would think getting to this level they should all be fairly highly skilled. You would also think the odds of so many unskilled players faking their way into the AFL system and all ending up at the same club would be pretty long. So I think it has to be down to coaches/coaching, whether the game plan is too unachievable, or the players are unmotivated for some reason? It’s baffling that our goal kicking seems to have gone backwards even after all the attention and coaching they’ve apparently devoted to fixing it...
