Its way too premature to write off Richo. However, as a hypothetical if we did need to go down that path, I'd make a short list of 2 and get one of them. Mark Thompson or Ross Lyon.
Bomber Thompson?

LL are you aware of his latest well reported issues?

This thread has taken my “belief cloud” to an all time low.....thank god we “exited” Rob Harvey in....

I’m not against Ross the boss.......ruthless and only our statistically best ever modern day coach.....

Future - Leighton Tudor......reckon he goes ok

Regardless what you may think about his coaching, one thing he was very good at was instilling leadership. A lot of strong leaders developed under GT’s reign.

I would love it if they brought him back to run player leadership development. Sadly right now we have zero leadership on field.

I'm not sure they've buried the hatchet, or ever will. Very sad really after what they set up between them. The list they assembled and nurtured should have won multiple flags.

To be honest, probably the best memories were when GT was at the helm, we went from a joke to just missing out in 04.
I'd have him back in a heart beat.

Bomber is cooked, both mentally and physically, LL. Ask someone in the know at the dopers about his bizarre behaviour when he took over from Turd. The only teams he'll be coaching in the near future will be the rehab facility team, or maybe even the Barwon boys. A truly sad story of a rise and fall. Was a decent bloke, apparently, until the uncle Doug's got hold of him.

"Oh, I've had enough of this."
"No you haven't"
"Oh shut up."

Rod Butters has slowly rebuilt his life in the past couple of years. He has beaten the drugs, the booze (bloody drugs again!) and financial hardship. It was an incredible fall from grace, but he's doing well now and helping others. Check out his interview at a little show produced at RMIT that screens on Channel 31 on Sunday nights. It is also on the website. Just google "Tough Times", with Michael Kuzilny. Fascinating stuff.

Rod was always a decent enough bloke and smart as a whip. His falling out with GT cost as dearly as a club. It was an exciting time when he and GT were in synch. It was a time when the club was feared and respected, the fans were entertained and a premiership or two seemed inevitable. Sigh.....
