Minchington / Intra club 2nds game

Post: # 1713316Post Rocket »

Went down in intra-club game at Sandy grabbing his ankle. Didn’t look good at all, was in a lot of pain.

Half time at Zebra oval. Lonie, Battle, Weller, Rice the better players so far.

Any sign of White, McKenzie or Phillips? The Irishmen?

Was his knee and word is a few weeks...

Rice, Battle, Lonie, Long playing well. Rice off half back could be the answer, foot skills on show.

Funny that, supposed experts on here were calling for Rice to go after his aflx performance.

How would have Greg Williams gone in AFLX?

Some people on here have NFI.

Saw him live, he was way off the pace. Never said he should go, just commenting on what I saw. Can't comment on today as I didn't see it.
I hope all our players make it, but fact is some won't.

Rice has the skills, his defensive pressure the apparent question mark. Same with White. This is holding both back.

Wasn’t aiming that at you mate was just a general comment from what I read after the aflx game which he obviously isn’t suited to.

Jack Lonie. Bumped into him down at St. Kilda Beach.

Battle will break into the seniors sometime this year. I really like that kid.

He definitely has the ability and one of the few good plucks late from the recruiting team. No doubt the Milky Bar Kid will use all of his flair and imagination to deny the kid development and opportunity.

I'm a NFI humpty
But I know two things
Comparing players from different eras is fraught with trouble
Most players that run out today are endurance demons the training levels incomparable, and the dedication worlds apart
and two
Greg Williams had sublime skills he could pass by hand 20-30mt and drill 40mt passes, in other words his ball magnet freak and the ability to move the ball quickly would probably see him selected over Rice

anyone got time machine handy?

If you grab a De Lorean and get it up to 88 mph you may be a chance.

Just go down to Hillbilly town.

Every car in Geelong is fitted with a flux capacitor... for when they drive up the Princes Highway to Melbourne, and back to the future. :D
