Con and Wellard (I like talking in 3rd person)
said Dunny and HuffnPuff are NOT guns.
They are just managing to squeeze into the team.
Weller is underdone due to injury or believing his own hype.
Dunny, as Con pointed out but everyone ignores,
was dropped to work on stuff...Fyfe, Rance, Martin get dropped much in the last 3 years?

Honest assessment by Con.

How did he go against Carlton the other night?

I didn't catch the game, but it's a bit surprising (or not) to see him picked again just looking at his numbers

2 kicks, 2 handballs, 2 clangers, 1 tackle, 1 behind, 0 marks.

What are the hidden factors that get him selected for another game?

Lonie dropped with 15 touches @ 80% DE , 9 contested, 5 i50's and 3 tackles.

I think injury may have played its part last week? Either way, it’s certainly shaping up as quite the mystery with the most likely answer also the saddest in that it appears Mr. Richo’s coaching may leave a lot to be desired

Whisper is they are looking to get him trimmer and fitter to play more midfield time. If he plays good footy in a 50/50 role between the midfield and HF (and kicks over 25 goals) then things are looking up.

We all want him to have a good year no doubt. Its time for Mav and everyone to move on from the season just passed. No point looking back now.
Injured. Not injured. Trim. Ripped. Bulky.
Won't make any difference.
He is just not a good enough player.

Why has a post been pulled from the swamp 3 months ago? Seriously....Mav played in 1 practice game. Give him and others a chance until the mid year point and then assess them properly.

Con's doppelganger at work again.

I didn't want to start a new thread and this zinger was the first one that came up… "he's flying"

Just wondering how he could be considered for another game on those numbers, did he blanket a carlton defender?

If he plays every game til mid year at a similar level to last year then the selection committee needs a serious review/refresh.
