So Suns are now arguably the worst team in the comp (Freo might contend if they were not so well coached) and the Lions of BNE are wooden spooners. Quite a lot of money down the gurgler there trying to prove ...what. AFL can conquer Qld? Dilemma for AFL, surely there cannot be any more compromised drafts or artificially inflated salary caps or imported League players so what to do. Merge Suns and Lions? Play top four teams in games at Metricon during the year, just keep sending money and reinforcements hoping for peace with honour. Victoria is apparently the fastest if not close to fastest growing state, certain "big" clubs memberships must start to plateau - I'd suggest AFL cut its losses look closer to home and support Saints and say Bulldogs clubs to get their membership numbers up and reap the rewards of investment. The trickle down effect to Geelong of making Gary JR a millionaire several times over and two easy beat teams up North is hardly the return supporters deserve, me thinks.
