Played where he should be playing, responds with 15 possessions in a quarter

This kid has shown from game 1 that he is exceptional

I'm puzzled also that he hasn't been thrown in there with Steven and Ross. He's a prolific ball winner when he gets going.

Maybe it's a tank issue. Maybe the coach has him pigeonholed as a different type. Maybe the coach has it it mind down he track. Who knows.

I think he's a potential star onballer and I think the same of Gresham in years to come. It will be a huge waste if he is considered mainly a small forward.

And there's Sinclair, too.

You can't play them all on the ball, I know, but we have a good mixture of inside and outside mids. I've got Acres down as both and that makes him a rare type of player.

I reckon he just needs to build up his upper body a bit more over preseason, but he is a work in progress.

Acres is going well. He has good size and can stand up in a tackle, but his hands are not yet good enough to be an inside midfielder. He doesn't do a quick release under pressure all that well and he still needs to learn how to play at stoppages, centre bounces in particular.

What I really like is that he can be used like Dangerfield in his ability to go forward and play as a marking target. He can also kick goals!

Should have a cracking good season next season. But I'm not convinced he will be the next Nat Fyfe like some here hope he will...hasn't shown a killer instinct yet or the ability to lift when the rest of the team is down.

As said, he's going well and has plenty room to get better.

When he dropped a mark in the last he just bulldozed the player off the ball, turned and used it

Nothing wrong with his body strength

Seemed to me that Sinclaire started forward and was a little bit lost in that difficult small forward role... and then rotated with Acres ... who then went out of the game for a period when Sinclaire went to th emiddle and really provided a lot

Point being, I think Acres and Sinclair switched between onball and forward and each did well when on-ball... but there are only a certain number of spots for on-ballers I guess

Both could step up as genuine mids next year, along with Steele Billings and Gresh all stepping up. alevel; and Dunstan mainitaining the form from ytj epast 5 weeks...

Geez he showed a lot this week. An absolute bullock. Watching him get across the open space at Etihad with ease was very bloody encouraging.

Going alright, but doesn't have the mindset to become great, also doesn't win slot of hardball. Love how he breaks tackles though

Will be a very good player.

The draft class from his year has turned the corner this year IMO. Billings and Dunstan now seem to get it. Good signs and all definately worth the 3 x top 20 picks. They have only played 4 seasons remember and are 22 years old roughly. Plenty more development in them.

Some on here must miss things I see - and that is OK.

Did you also miss the sliding in, taking possession when flat on the ground and firing out the handball he did?

Exceptional.

Phrased it wrong, doesn't seem to have the mindset.

I just don't think he has the intense drive for perfection like the riewoldts or the fyfes, just comes across way more relaxed, which isn't exCtly a bad thing. You'd know what I mean if you see him talk after games

He's powerful, hard to tackle and shift off the ball. A rare commodity, and one we have to keep and develop. He'll be a very fine player.

He does give off the aire that he is taking the p155 a fair bit.

Questionable work rate at times.

I can see where he would be frustrating the hell out of the coaches.

Hate to say it... but he's trade bait. Good currency.

If we trade Acres or Billings, we are dead set looking to fold as a club.

one of many with a lot of upside - if he, billings, dunstan, steele, sinclair, and gresham reach their potential we are looking at a very deep, very elite midfield with many able to rotate hf or forward. with ross, steven, and stevens in there as well the future looks bright. add the cream in a player like kelly and we'd outgun any team. savage, newnes can also play there and rotate in defence.
patience sprinkled with a bit of hope.
of course we still need to learn to kick goals.

More like resentment littered with misguided patience.

I'm with you Dragit, how people continue to think this kid is trade bait is absolutely mind blowing.

Will be a big part of our future and will only get better.

I won't be signing up again if we trade either.
