Theoretically Possible

Post: # 1694567Post ace »

Theoretical
Fremantle MUST defeat Essendon
Then
Adelaide MUST beat West Coast
Then St Kilda MUST beat Richmond
And beat Richmond by no less than 5 goals than the Bulldogs defeat Hawthorn

you got those that don't believe in heaven and will never get there.
then you've got those that do but don't actually make any effort.
and then there are those that do all they can, and who knows?

Perhaps we could get a Voodoo witch doctor to put a hex on the Injectors?

Last week put any finals thought to bed IMO.

Just not good enough this year.

I think the last minute choke against Port was the final straw. A top eight team doesn't lose those games.

Dees and Dons to most likely finish 7th and 8th. We played both recently and went missing in both games big time. Our non-performance in those games ended our finals run. Playing well in one of them could have had us make the 8.

2017 has been a shyte year IMO.

Had plenty of chances but just cooked it.

And the games where we just didn't show up, such as Essendon....

pfft. Finals.

That moment of madness against Port when Acres "wandered off" has hurt us.

Had our chances. I think many posters said the same last year and if we dont start taking this seriously we will have the same next year at this time. Being like that for many years .......... crying because of lost opportunities. When is our Club going to wakeup and become PROFESSIONAL.

Can't rememebr a more frustrating year.

Ninth again, probably. Yipee.

The club talked itself up, teased, and then failed to step up when it mattered.

Thought it was important to make the eight to brand ourselves a destination
club and send Roo and Joey off in style.

Too many putrid efforts and laughable skills.

It'd be nice to make it, but we simply don't deserve to.

The teams directly around us are all better than us bar West Coast.

Melbourne, Essendon & the Bulldogs beat us by a combined total of 165 points.

If we finish 8th, we deserve to be there.

You can point to the Essendon, Bulldogs and Melbourne games but we also beat Richmond easily and GWS. And we were within a goal of Port in Adelaide.

I am willing to throw in the flying pigs that just settled in the back yard. Still researching the grandmaster frog tennis achievement probability. As a fall back I am hoping the sides going for the eight have taken the odds about the Saints - everyone has a price don't they. Except Kelly. Don't worry dals_da, very early in September you will be consoling your dearheart when he says "I wish we hadn't made the 8 to go out in this fashion.....".

The losses to Port and Melbourne show just where we are at. I hope that it hurts the boys a lot and so it should.

Both Players and Coaches need to hang their heads in shame. Hopefully, they all learn !

If we'd beaten Melbourne this thread wouldn't have started.

We were storming home in the 3rd and we even kicked the first goal in the last quarter to be within 4 points. If Nathan Brown didn't gift them a goal we might have had a chance to get our noses in front and ride the momentum wave.

Nathan Brown was up against a VFL grade younster in Sam Weideman and he failed with some very basic stuff. Simple defense 101 actions were not followed. Harry Taylor, Alex Rance or Jake Lever would have punched the crap out of the ball and put it at least into the first row of the crowd. He spoiled by punching the ball back into the corridor instead of towards the boundary and who happened to be front and centre to pick up the crumbs...Jeff Garlett. Jeffy goaled, the tide turned, and we could'nt regain our momentum

That word "if", Scallop. Gets far too much use, but..............if Billings and Membrey hadn't missed set shots in the last two minutes of the 3rd quarter, you wouldn't be blaming Nathan Brown.

If only.
