Our Best Young Player

Post: # 1693167Post David-Lee »

Okay everyone is disappointed with losing games.
Next, chatting with the lads there is quite a bit of difference of opinion here about who is our best young player...young meaning played 50 or less games.

I thought it was clear but what do you think and why? Any predictions on which young guns will be traded, cut or elevated? It can be a player who has never seen a senior game...whoever you think is the rising star yet to be...

No bagging players or poo poo. I have changed my nappy and my mummy dried my blue eyes...I had my whinge so let's speculate our sorrow away.

Either
Jack Sinclair
Jack Steele or
Blake Acres

If I had to only pick 1 it would be Jack Steele. Seems the most likely. Already a good player at 21.
Should be a star of the comp in a few years. Great pick-up.

Does anyone know how long he is contracted for? Hopefully a long time.

dunstan's our best youngster and the best leadership candidate amongst them by some way. took responsibility today with difficult shots when the likes of billings and sinclair were dishing it off, lacking confidence in themselves. Had to cover the loss of Stevens in the midfield and toughed it out well. led the SA u/18s to the national championship. class player. seriously underrated on here by those that get blinded by flashier players.

Sinclair is all class and has great vision. Never wastes a disposal.

Steele seems very driven to succeed and while not my personal favourite has enough fans to indicate he'll be very good.

Acres has all the tools needed to be a star onballer and that's where I'd be playing him.

On the ball.

The coach doesn't show enough faith in him and that is to the club's detriment. This has to change.

And let's not forget Gresham who can be a star mid if he's developed correctly.

A big, big mistake to pigeonhole him as a small forward and to consign Acres to a flank.

While everyone's disappointed about today's result, let's not forget a week ago we were singing these guys praises after a good win.

We have some very talented young midfielders who need to be developed properly.

Geez...when you look at it. These boys are all still quite young and really haven't played alot of footy. Plenty of upside in this area. They will all get better.

I think Sinclair, Dunstan, Gresham, Acres, Steele and Billings will all be at least decent.
Membrey has only played 48 games and already has 86 goals so he is going well. Almost 2 goals a game.

What a wonderful positive post from you Connie, well done!!!!!

For me: Billy Longer, young in terms of Ruckmen and probably our most improved player this, season!!!!!

'Cause StoneCold Said So'!!!!!

We will be great again once Billy is back playing!!!!!

You can add Seb Ross and Billy Longer who are both 24.

But we need to get rid of the dud. Alas, he has turned out to be every bit the player I said he was 7 years ago.
