Membrey vertical leap

Post: # 1689237Post fugazi »

He has springs in his feet.
Several times has spoilt kicks while standing on the mark.
Would love to see the goal review of the Robbie Gray goal...it looked like him on the goal line...cant have been far away.

With four minutes to go he jumped over the top of his opponent in the goal square and had clear purchase on the ball which only came out when it hit the Port guy's shoulder on the way down.

Yes was clearly a mark.

For that matter when Bruce bounced off the behind post it was a mark too. Luckily in that case Members was there to gather and goal. but Bruce marked the ball and only the impact with the post dislodged it.

Skunk has long arms which he sticks straight up and out when he uses his natural leap to go for a mark. He is straight out of the text book on how to play footy.

We need more of our players to play like he does.

A glimpse of things to come! I thought Bruce and Membrey were excellent yesterday.

Yes, they complement each other very well. Members an excellent mark with great judgement and Bruce, who never shies away from crashing packs. The key is to give them some space in which to operate, admittedly not easy the way the game is played nowadays.

Membery has a very unusual technique of regularly jumping off two feet for marks.
It works for him as he gets height and can use the same stance to jump or plant his feet for a body on body contest

He reads the ball in flight really well.
