Roo is a cheater

Listening to the radio and a Freo caller says Roo is a cheater for "scamming an oppostion player into a 50 metre penalty".
Firstly - this is obviously my opinion and we won so I am suddenly the greatest Saints fan ever and the defender of the faith.

Secondly, it is damn bit rich to call Nick a scammer or cheater. He is one of the most respected senior players in the AFL and likely the best leader St Kilda has had in decades.

Thirdly, if interpretting the vision available as Nick trying to trick a player..which I do not see it that way...he acted completely within the rules. That's not cheating. Cheating is when you knowingly ( I guess unknowingly can be called cheating but e.g. Bombers & drugs I reckon it was more foolish and ignorant than cheating) do something against the rules of the game for advantage.

Fourthly I am going to give him the benefit of the doubt as he has been faithful loyal and fully of integrity in his career.

If you feel other wise please expound..

There was one game recently - not sure if it was late last year
where Skunk took a mark on the 50, the player kept coming over the mark
and the ump did nothing.
Opponent wasn't even in the contest at all.
Late in the game and we lost by less than a goal.

We still need to get more payback on Freo for those two DISGRACES.

- the Roo "throw it to me" penalty, and
- inflicting a dud coach that is taking them on a "road to nowhere"
is a good start for retribution!

It's a fifty every day of the week. If Roo calls for it or not, if he grabs the ball or steps aside, griffen logue picked the ball up, it is then his responsibility to give it to the correct player. Sure it's sneaky, but no different for calling for a handball when the opposition player has possession, or calling 'mine' when you're about to contest a mark against an oppo player.

There are reasons why you never pick up the ball for your opponents.
The best is to give your team time to man up on their opponents.
Another is if the ball slips as you throw it back you could give up a 50.
This time, you may be confused as to who to return the ball to.

I remember a couple years ago, Brent Harvey knocked the ball out of Priddis' hands after he got a free kick. The ball was behind Priddis' back in his hands, and when Harvey knocked it to the ground, the umpire saw that and thought Priddis just dropped and Harvey got a 50 and a goal. To me, that's smart footy, ain't nothing wrong with it unless you get caught
