8 point games

Post: # 1680425Post MC Gusto »

We have a few 8 point games coming up that are must wins if we are to finish in the 8

Freo, bombers both critical for us to win and worth 8 points

Richmond twice....need to win at least 1 should take both

Melbourne?

Bombers match is most critical...if we can get them (off the back of a freo win away) then we're on

Lose both / either and I reckon we're gawnskies

We won't be winning any of these games if we can't find a way to kick goals.
Tonight we had about 36 chances to score and we could only kick 14 straight.

Nailed it I reckon.

Richmond x2, Bombers and Freo are our final 8 competitors... we win 3 of 4 those matches and its finals

Neither do I but I reckon there will be a couple of teams playing finals this year that aren't ready for finals.

The problem is that we are ordinary, with ordinary players, so we don't look ready, but we're not the only ones.

In 2002 we had Baker, Black, X-man, Cripps, Dal, Spider, G-train, Hamill, Hayes, Max, Jones, Buckets, Goose, Milne, Peckett, Roo, Thompson, and Voss. Finished 2nd bottom with 5 wins and a draw.

What would that team do to our current one sitting 8th?

We are as ready as any of the other teams around us and we likely be playing a team that will beatable in the first week if we make it - Also playing finals will be an invaluable experience for our younger brigade

I don't think Freo will be fighting for a spot in the 8, the other two are definitely 8 point (plus percentage) games.

Winning away is critical to our success.

Freo nearly pinched the game against the Cats,
will they be unhappy and not play well against us,
or will they be all fired up and eating raw meat before the game?

If our guys haven't magically improved their kicking in the space of 7 days, we are trouble, seriously

When were 8 point games introduced?
I must have missed that!
The AFL needs to stop messing with the game and making unnecessary changes.
Which round is the 8 points and how is that fair if some tyeams are playing weak clubs and some strong clubs :!:

8 point games...
Okay I will bite: .......

St Kilda v Fremantle
The Current Ladder
St Kilda 28
Fremantle 24

Current point differential - 4

We win - We go to 32 and Fremantle stay on 24 - Point differential 8
We lose - We stay on 28 and Fremantle go to 28 - Point differential 0

Win v lose means an 8 point slip/gain in the differential

Essentially every game is an 8 point game - but when you are playing teams around you it makes a bigger difference (think Norf last year) if we won, we would have played finals. It is more than winning the 4 points - it is denying the opposition the 4 points

I don't know if it's just me but I can't see any images in your posts - just the word image 5 times.
