Wow! North kicked 10 goals for the night and if it wasn't for the stuff ups of just three players we would have held them to a maximum of just 2. Everyone else must have been brilliant!

He still managed to win 9 Contested possessions, the same as J Steven, so I don't think I can write him off just like that

He is hard at it but lacks a bit of composure.

He is not in Daniel's class, the only comparison is height.
Daniel is very good with lateral movement, composed in congestion and hits targets between 20-40 meters.
Also reads the ball brilliantly at stoppages.

Minch & Wright are not AFL footballers IMO.

Sincs has surprised me, he is a classy finisher and playing reasonable football.
Caleb Daniel can jump too. I couldn't believe my eyes when he spoiled a mark against 2m Jake Carlisle from behind!

Didn't Lonie almost take a speccie? Or did I just imagine that to make the match more exciting

Wow! Are you bad at maths?

That was cost us 8 goals that we should of as a team kicked. So you add the goals onto our score and not deduct from Norths.

Now if I has said that they gave North 8 goals.....

PS: all three has disposal efficincies of just over 50% which is dismal for small forwards.

It wasn't a set shot Lonie missed, it was a set shot an Auskick kid would have got, gee imagine the uproar on here if that was Paddy!!!!! Double Standards Posting!!!!!

Not UN-common by some here though, Lonie also got many of his touches when the game was cooked and the pace went out of it!!!!!

But each to their own!!!!!

I'm glad Lonie missed it.
He played for that free like Joel Duckwood.
How the ump fell for it, I have no idea
but it was bloody pathetic.

I reckon keep Lonie for now.

He's clearly not ready for senior football and might not be this season but at the same time is nearly a cut above Sandy.

Let him develop for another year and occasional put a foot in the water

The envelope was opened on Saturday, and the winner was Alex Rance.

Lonie is worth persevering with.

He shows glimpses and definitely has something to offer.

Thought Lonie did ok - just choked in front of goal again. He needs to get a lot stronger and work on his speed, but has a future IMO.

If I'm a paddy whacker, aren't you a lonie whacker? Perhaps you are not a true loyal sainted if you dare criticise a young player?!

Paddy missed what, 3 last week and kicked 0 as the main key forward?

Paddy is a 194cm 95kg number 1 draft pick
Lonie a 174cm 72kg number 41 draft pick

I reckon the expectations are slightly different, don't you??

Lonie may have missed a simple set shot... everyone has... perhaps to see if he is a poor kick in general terms
Look at his goal kicking in the VFL at a windy TBBO
He has kicked plenty of goals, to go with his dominance in the midfield

Pressure of the big stage gets to him at the moment because he doesn't feel at home at the level yet. He has all the tools, but not yet the confidence.

to whom is this addressed?
anyone in particular?
The set shot was quite close in, should never miss those.

What can be said is that over years all of Lonie, Minchington and Wright have had plenty of chances to consolidate

I do not accept the excuse that they are disadvantaged by being played "out of position"

They are being advantaged by receiving the opportunities they have received

And on the cusp we have Freeman plus 2 First Round Draft picks - and that improves our List

Ditto with Longer

The fact that players are being given repeat opportunities highlights the weakness in our List - acknowledging that injuries can give opportunity

In terms of Dunstan I have never viewed him as "slow", although his inside grunt work means he is a feeder not the fed so he sets up the player heading off with the ball

And for all the criticism on here he has taken on a significant responsibility in the very early stages of his career

We only had he and Armitage as inside mids doing the grunt work to release or force another ball up - hence Steele and Stevens and now the emergence of Ross

Now we need that support for Number 3 - so bring on Freeman as the remainder of this season evolves

And Sinclair, who has also had multiple opportunities, is showing what Lonie, Minchington and Wright have to deliver to consolidate

Gee BM has an issue with Paddy

But supports Longer!!!

McCartin will become central to the success of our Club once he gets on the park consistently

He will only improve - and rapidly

Needs a 22 game AFL season

And then watch him go to one of the most potent power forwards in the competition

And then there is Bruce!!!
