Josh Kelly Cup Tonight
With Saints and North both chasing Kelly hard tonight's game may possibly play a factor in his decision.
So we want to see the GOOD Saints tonight.

If Kelly is watching tonight's game he will probably sign a two year deal with GWS tomorrow

I hope so, we don't need to bankrupt the club with this dude.Goose is king wrote:If Kelly is watching tonight's game he will probably sign a two year deal with GWS tomorrow
The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Josh Kelly has just deleted the Saints and Norf phone numbers from his mobile.

Yes we blew it.
We should have won by 60 points but just turned it over under often little all now pressure.
Our 3 small forwards were particularly dismal.

Lonie tries hard but he is not AFL standard at the moment. If I was his coach I would be telling him to hit the weights hard next pre-season and put on heaps of muscle otherwise he will be delisted. Time and time again he gets brushed aside too easily.

Re: Josh Kelly Cup Tonight
We weren't wonderful, but Norths had far less to offer. There is some raw talent in their side, but most of their better players last night are over 25. Under Brad Scott, they have always been competitive and a contender to make the finals, but they haven't ever looked that close to being champions. And, with the current lineup, they look quite likely to continue in that vein for the next 4-5 years.
With one or two top class players like Kelly or whoever, we could step up to be a top side. Whereas North needs an overall lift: more youth and talent all around the ground. Their best option would be to sink to the bottom for a couple of years, do a cleanout and pick up some early draft picks.

Dunstan 65%
Lonie 69%
Weller 71%
Stevens 71% (off with injury for some time)
Gresham 73%
Acres 73%
Ross 89%
It hard to rack up the statistics when you spend so such time off the ground.
That's 6 players playing 4 full games between them.
Given the same game time as Ross
Dunstan gets 25 possessions
Lonie 22 possessions
Weller 20 possessions,
Gresham 23 possessions
Acres 22 possessions
Ross deserves his game time 32 possessions
Based on those figures Lonie did OK when you consider that at Sandy he gets to play midifeld but at St Kilda he has to play defensive small forward.
But as you point out Lonie gets to many tackles only to be brushed off.
If only others just got to those tackles.
The more you know, the more you know you don't know.

Now that I am old and know so much more, I know that I know so much about so little, and so little about so much.

Re: Josh Kelly Cup Tonight
You have to look at what the player does when he gets the ball. Gresham and Lonie were dismal in this regard against North.
Gresh in particularly missed kicking the ball to team mates and direct to North players.
Lonie as a small forward needs to kick the easy goal he missed last night.
Now Gresh I have no doubt will ultimately make it. But last night his ball use was poor. Lonie I still do not know about.

The reason Dunstan never plays over 70% is because he has the wost tank of all midfielders in the comp.

Personally I think take Dunstan out of the midfield per'se and put him on the HFF in Mav's spot. He does everything Mav can do and kicks the odd goal tooCon Gorozidis wrote:The reason Dunstan never plays over 70% is because he has the wost tank of all midfielders in the comp.

Dunstan is a very poor kick at goal both penetration and accuracy so I don't think he's a half forwardskeptic wrote:Personally I think take Dunstan out of the midfield per'se and put him on the HFF in Mav's spot. Re: Josh Kelly Cup Tonight
Don't be sucked in by media look at me rubbish looking for a headline they can attach THEIR photo to - as if we don't know what they look like already!
Players will understand that good sides win tough - and NM's season was on the line in 2017 after being finalists in 2016 - and it is a while since we beat them
We got the win and did the work when it had to be done
Kelly's knowledge will come from when he plays against us and any other side said interested in his future
The rest is all just "chatter" in the media and of absolutely no relevance
One matter of interest is that apart from GWS we have beaten the 5 of the bottom 6 we have played
In assessing ladder performance who you have played where and who you have to play and where that is important - such is the impact of the draw

Damning all round but Mav's played more games this year and he kicked 2 of those goals in the training run vs Hawthorn which has been his only reasonable game to date this yearlongtimesaint wrote:MAV has scored 8 goals this year and Dunstan 4skeptic wrote:Seems to be kicking more goals than Mav thoughlongtimesaint wrote:Dunstan is a very poor kick at goal both penetration and accuracy so I don't think he's a half forwardskeptic wrote:Personally I think take Dunstan out of the midfield per'se and put him on the HFF in Mav's spot.
