Gosh I hope that we spoil the Crows of 1997, 20 year anniversary of their first premiership. This is to be held this weekend.
I will never forget being at the MCG on that day in late September 97. Until the 15 - 20 minute mark of the last quarter, I carried the belief that the Mighty Sainters would prevail.
A second premiership cup would find it's rightful home at Moorabbin. We had of course won nine games in a row in the lead up.
What followed was the indignity of being beaten by a side that had been in the AFL for a mere six or so years. Subsequently, I can remember Crows fans making a mockery of the Saints, even singing our Club Song in a blasphemous manner. I kept my mouth closed as I walked away, back to my car which was parked near Swan and Coppin Streets Richmond. I have never forgotten the ongoing heckling from their supporters however, even as I was minding my own business.
Quite seriously Saints, please spoil the party...

I still can't listen to their theme song without feeling ill.
Can't believe that was 20 years ago, really.

Re: Crows celebration of 20 year anniversary
Pbly the worst football day of my life... either that or the draw.
I was 13 at the time, went to every game in Melbourne that season.
Never for a second thought we'd lose the game until suddenly it was beyond us. Hated that we lost Everite, Vids, Wakes and smith beforehand though the crows had a few handy outs themselves.
I've come to peace with this one over the journey... Crows fans to me have been a pretty gracious bunch about it, more happy with their time rather than rubbing our noses in it. I have some respect for that club.

Blight not there as he is playing golf.
The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.
