Watching on the Saints.com site there is a video of a 3D walk through by Geary & Newnes of the renos at the Moorabbin Oval and I came across a devestating sight.............. here peaking from below Gears' shirt on his bicep is what appears to be a tatt

I guess I've never noticed it before as Gears shoulder and upper arm is usually heavily taped.

Oh dearie me what are the Saints coming to???? We'll soon rival Collingwood as the most inked team.

When I first saw the darstedly tatt on Geary's arm I tried to convince myself it was a scar from a shoulder operation - alas I was mistaken in my want for Gears to be a clean skin.

Perhaps he tapes that area of his arm to cover it. It may have been one he got on a whim and subsequently regrets getting.

Personally, I don't care if members of the team have tattoos, just so long as they play decent footy. But it has become such a cliche now. I suppose they think getting tattoos is cool. And it is cool

Aaaawh shucks guys! I could be a real cougar if that was so. S'pose I could overlook one tatt on Gears if he was interested in pursuing me

I kept looking closely at it in the video, trying to decipher what it was. There's only a tiny bit peeking out from under his sleeve.

First of all I thought it may be a scar from a shoulder operation. Nup!
Then I thought it was possibly a bit of torn material from another shirt, dangling underneath his top shirt. Nup again!
By this stage I was clutching at straws, I thought maybe it was a shadow cast by his shirt onto his arm. Nup once more!

Alas I had to admit my hero has feet of clay and has gone to the dark side and got scribbled on. Don't know how I'll recover from this I guess I'll forgive our skipper, if he leads the Saints to a premiership cup in the near future!

Well done SemperFid - you have solved the mystery and eased my angst

I followed your investigative method and blew the image up (good thinking 99). Bingo, you have correctly identified it is part of the microphone pack that is taped to him. Yes SF, I see now the black object moves in an opposite direction to his movement and with the image blown up I can even see the object leaves a shadow on his arm.

All's well with the world now Semp, I can lay me down to sleep peacefully tonight knowing Gears is a clear skin. Must admit I'm a tad filled with the teensiest bit of guilt, doubting him so.

Between you and me SF, Wellard Saint & Bigcarl's identification of what was on Gears arm, somewhat appealed to me. I'd be rather chuffed to have Gears having 'the hots for me'............ Oh I can but dream. Off to have my hot coco now, before beddie byes.

Just saw the walk through of RSEA park and I'm with Loris. I spotted some fresh ink on Gears arm. Seems like he's starting on some work on there. Also noticed Tom Lee's name on the number 9 locker. Wonder how he's going?

WOW had a W tattooed on each cheek of his arse. I'll leave the "O" up to Your imagination.. it that's how he got his nickname

He also had a tattoo in Chinese writing on his arm, Turns out that he was somewhat pissed and he asked for a tatto
in Chinese .. Sadly after showing his new Tatt off someone eventually burst out laughing.. seems it said somthing like "Dim Sims Three for a dollar.." or something simular The Tattoist had just looked straight across the street and copied it off the local Chinese shop window..
