Rory Sloane...............90
Jack Viney.................84
Jack (Man Of) Steele....75

I keep banging on about young Jack, but hey, he also averages
21.6 disposals,
3.9 clearances
and I think his pressure points are one of the highest in the whole comp

So far he is proving to be an inspired pickup by us.

He apparently shared lodgings with Josh Kelly in Sydney.
If he can help us land that big fish, wow what an impact

I am away - and missed what must have been an epic match to watch live or live on the telly - have seen the highlights reel on my phone though- and for me the highlight of the highlights was steeles run down tackle . I saw he topped the SuperCoach points with only 15 possessions and thought it must be a typo until I saw the tackle count--17 !!!

Considering he missed the previous two or three weeks, that is a very impressive stat.

Not even sure why he was dropped. Even if he doesn't get much of the ball, his defensive efforts are always second to none.

Seems to me the coaches must be giving very clear direction to players when they're dropped to the twos. They seem to be coming back much more focussed than when they left. Could just be because they realise how easily they can lose their spots so they give more but more likely I think it's cos they're being given clear messages about what they should be working on and what's expected. That seems to be the sort of honest relationship Richo fosters - and hopefully will be the reason players like McCartin won't end up getting antsy and looking elsewhere.

17 tackles yesterday was ridiculous!

He does need to also keep getting the ball, I would like him and/or Stevens forward with that tackling intensity.

Jack Steele has been a great pick up... he is a beast!!
We seemed to do really well with players from other clubs..not as well with the Draft which is is understandable...
Billings is the obvious stand out with Gresham not far behind & we all hope we will be talking about Mc Cartin the same in the future..

Interesting that he only got one free kick.
With all those tackles, must have resulted in ball-ups, who knows.
He is one of the best at serving out handballs to someone in a great position, as is Koby,
from what I have noticed, anyway. Both are strong and composed.
AR said he's from a rugby background like Lenny (high praise)
and "when he tackles, they stick"
With him inside, we need 2 outside mids that can feed off him and run fast into space.

The effort and whatever to tackle is great but we should all appreciate his technique too. Highlighted perfectly on the big chase down tackle at the end of the third. Textbook stuff. Pinned both arms perfectly at the elbows and dropped his weight to take him down.

A lot of guys wrap the arms around, pseudo-hugging the opponent. This lets the opponent get the arms free for a handball and/or slip the tackle. Steele gives no such opportunities and uses his weight and momentum to drop the guy. Doesn't get in the back, rolls him.

It was really quite magnificent.

And the chase down started from our goal square nearly up to their goal square.

Mav had a real shocker. Hard to believe his TOG stat.
