I mainly hope that the "improved" deal is the same for all clubs and no preferential treatment for Essendon or Carlton as there is now, not everyone get a percentage increase or something stupid.

A casino where they let in the 12, 13 and 14 year olds and make it all seem normal. And they have the gall to act like champions of progressive values whilst ramming gambling, booze and more gambling down the throats of every kid that wants to watch footy. What 'family values' they promote!

Agree.
They make out like it is in all the natural course of things and that more and more commercialism is the natural way of things. Like it is all part of 'progress'.
But this is simply nonsense. There is no reason why it needs to be this way. No reason at all. The players go along with it because they are told it means more money for them although that isnt proven.

What irks me the most is that the AFL think they are terrific business people and great capitalists. This is also pure myth. This is a monopoly business. A business that was hugely successful well before commercial interests took over. A business that is more religion than business. It is something that people show own. The AFL are mere custodians.

Sure I can remember cigarette advertising in the 70s and plenty of alcohol advertising but we banned the cigarette ads when more medial evidence came to hand.
