Whatever he exercise regimen he followed prior to his return it won't have been as intensive or effective as the club's pre-season training. He is behind and he looks behind. His best asset is his aggression and long-kicking out of defence, his worst that he is glacially slow but judging him at this stage? I think we will have to wait another 12 months at least to see whether his best is good enough.

It looks like we have more than one Freeman.
Well that's doubly disappointing, with 18 touches between possibly multiple players, KFT.

Left legged Freeman had 9 kicks and 2 handballs. Right legged Freeman had 9 kicks and 2 handballs. And the tackle was shared between the two legs.

Sandringham Coach Lindsay Gilbee says his side was taught a lesson by Footscray on Saturday night, after the Zebras suffered a 98-point loss at VU Whitten Oval.

After falling behind 5.10 to just 0.3 at quarter-time, Sandringham was never able to recover, with the Bulldogs piling on 10 goals to one in the second half to put the Zebras to the sword.

“We were outplayed by a very good football side tonight in every area,” Gilbee told saints.com.au.

“Our contest, work rate and our effort across the board was nowhere near good enough tonight and Footscray showed us what it takes to be a successful football team at this level.

“It shows us where we’re at as a football club at the present time and it was a really poor performance tonight.

“It’s a big football lesson that shows the improvement we need to make as a team and also for our players to have successful careers.”

If Goddard was any good he would have had 25 possessions given the amount of time the ball stayed in Footscrays half. Seems too slow and cumbersome.

Goddard has just come back from a year out and is 20 years old, he was not the only player who was atrocious on Saturday, give him a chance

Could the big margin be due to the players only playing for themselves, selfish footy,
not playing as a team? Not helping each other?
I don't see VFL games as I live in Sleepy Hollow (Perth)
but the match report suggests a rev-up at half time didn't really work,
and they only got one goal in the second half, which was in 4th qtr?

If players are jaded and upset, they won't listen to the half-time talk.
If they are anxious to improve, you'd expect them to come out and be competitive at least.

Only 2 players got touches, Lonie and Dunstan, maybe the rest were "over it"?

it doesn't look great for the Saints when the firsts get flogged by Footscray and the reserves get slaughtered by the Scraggers.
