I don't get the 23rd player thing.
When the extended bench is cut,
does Hamish Brayshaw become the First Emergency?

info I found- can't find the actual VFL statement - but basicly a young player given VFL experience for up to 3 games as 23rd player-- But obviously doesn't stop them being used in ful tam.
The 23rd player rule is designed to enable clubs to promote young talent and provide them with a taste of VFL football to aid their development.
The players eligible for 23rd man selection have >>>>>>>>> ahead of the 2017 VFL season.

Based on eligibility requirements, **** qualify to play as 23rd man up to three times during the home and away season.

In addition to this, the club can also give selected Western Jets players in the TAC Cup some senior VFL experience, which the club did on four separate occasions last year.

Hopefully the lads are well aware there's places in the firsts for those that perform.

Probably half price or free if you're a minority given it's played in Footscray

Hopefully they have a crack and don't put out a "p$ss" weak return.

Stand up and deliver. If Marshall, Long, Rice play well they deserve a crack.

I'm at the game. Freeman seems to be getting a lot of the ball. Delivery to Bruce hasn't been great but hasn't had any of the ball. Sandy getting murdered

Spines of plastic .. you would think a response would be in order with hungry players wanting a crack at Senior level.

The club really needed to stand firm about getting their own reserves team. You can't compare the Zebs with Footscray - it is like comparing apples with pears.

the way the agreement is structured this year, it is like comparing apples to apples. This is our reserves playing.
