Compare Saints v Bombers

Post: # 1672565Post spert »

I was watching a replay of some the Bombers v WCE game with a mate who follows the injectors. Seeing they are breathing down our throat on the ladder, I got a bit annoyed having watched us capitulate to the Swans and look ordinary against Carlton in our win the week before.
The Bombers looked a pretty switched on unit- good clean disposal across the ground, a forward line who seem to know what they are doing, and I am worried that we are going to slip under them now after we seemed to regress to the form of a few years ago on the weekend. I'm a bit concerned fellow Sainters!

Drug cheats verses non drug cheats!
How is that for a comparison?

spert, with due respect mate, get a grip! If we're "a bit concerned" about potential rivals, then we should consider giving it away!

Didn't Carlton beat Essendon?

Why?

We need to beat another team to win the flag. But it won't be the junkies.

Wet Coke don't do so well in Melbourne.
They win in Perth with the assistance of the crowd affecting the biased one-sided umps.
Having said that, Bombers have a forward line that's working much better than ours.

We just bomb to square and bring to ground- silly tactics used by unskilled Under-9's, not professional players. (so-called)
Even against Hawks, where most of the team was on song, Membrey fumbled marks.

Eventually, Bombers will win as many as us, and then climb above us

Bulldogs win, and Bombers beat Tigers, Freo losing in Adelaide, Melb beating Suns:
Ladder is
5. Bulldogs
6. Bombers
7. Freo
8. Power
9. Demons
10. Tigers
11. Saints

Does anyone think those results are realistic?
If we win, we could be 6th

Unfortunately the Dons have been nailing some really good draft picks of late with some real outperforms.

Merret has become a real gun. Fantasia is very good.
McDonald-Tipungwuti as a rookie is a real find.

Daniher as a father son (Saints have never had any real joy from this) looks likely to become an elite forward.

And their drug cheat years has meant that the last two years that they have been able to gain three good early picks.

Those acqusitions gives them a solid core to build around.

Hooker and Hurley are both 29. As key position players if these two have good longevity (many KP fall over at about 30) then the Dons will be on the up and up. Unfortunately booth look to be in good physical nick.

rather than look anxiously over our (collective) shoulder at our (potential) rivals, we ought to be fully focussed on getting OUR side and game plan organized for a full tilt at the flag.

That's out of the supporters hands mostly. Essendon are a real threat this year as OP states.
