Votes vs da Swans

Post: # 1671855Post Bluthy »

5 Ross- 37 possies - maybe didn't use them all the best but worked his guts out.
4 Billings - probably predictable drop from last weeks outstanding effort as the oppo put work into him. But still our most dangerous with the footy opening things up with his kicking
3 J Steven - thought he was brilliant early before they put the brakes on him.
2 Acres - threatened to get us back in the game with his bullocking runs but then disappeared again.
1 Robbo - tried hard but couldn't quite get that same run going. Yet another goal - love his offensive capability

Gilbert - Thought he had a really good game. Did everything, both ways, really well, multiple very big efforts, won his contests.
Ross - Very good offensively. Not sure what his direct opponent was up to. Our best ball user this year.
Acres - Took the game on, looked our best chance to get the ball from one end to the other.
Billings - Another good game. Continues to work himself into good spots and look dangerous.
Roberton - really takes on a lot of responsibility. Had nothing to kick to.

5: Gilbert (there should be no other contender today, a mighty game in a poor side).

4: J Steven

3: Ross

2: Billings

1: Acres

Ross - everywhere, pity he wasn't cleaner.
Roberton - not near his best, but still one of ours
Billings - got a lot of it, wasted a fair few.
Roo - 3 goals and our cleanest with the ball
Gilbert - was getting involved in a lot and a real nuisance, not a great game, but no real comp this week.

Forgot about Gilbo. GAve us some good run and defensive cover and smacked in hard. Looked a bit tired in the ruck though, out of his depth with the huge rucks. Honourable mention.

Not giving any mids a vote- due to their soft effort, their opponents killed us

Terrible team effort, so the best I can do is:
5: Gilbert
4: Brown
3: Carlise
2: Dmac
1: Cant find another

Minus 10 for Mav Weller
Taking up a valuable spot and not doing anything
tried to tackle but judgement was way off each time, too busy thinking of some topics for his Logie-winning TV show

Minus 10 for the whole team for simply banging the ball into the forward line like Under 9's, kick and hope

5-Gilbert - worked hard both ways
4-Ross - accumulated
3-Acres - had a crack
2- Billings - was ok
1-Roberton - not as good as he has been, but still reasonable

Carlisle was good in the first half but poor after that... Steven was typically fine...

Weller, Montagna would be dropped if I were IC

Sinclair was missing, Steele and Koby .... a lot of players were average or worse

Not sure why you and Wellard are at mav. Picked up 22 disposals and most marks working goal line to goal line. Yes his kicking at goal is horrible but 17 pressure acts show he's far from a passenger.

How many of those Mav stats were in the last q when the game was dusted?

I'm not sure but you can look at it that way and I saw him working his guts out in the last quarter when others stopped.

Dont forget while JB is an offensive forward, Mav is a defensive forward and picked up a lot of disposals and pressure acts in the back half as is his job.
Unfortunately his kicking at goal this year has been crap - otherwise we'd all be cheering him!

Geary and Weller in the Votes!!!

They were among the contingent that saw 22 players eventually overwhelm 16 players.

Next you will have Longer in the Votes on today's performance!!!!

5. Ross
4. Gilbert
3. Roberton
2. Acres
1. Geary.

I haven't given Jack Steven a vote. His disposal is shocking. Might as well be playing for the opposition .

Critical of Steven's disposal in the heat of the kitchen then put Geary in the votes!

At least Jack, fed free in the F50, nails goals

He does not struggle with 40 metres and just miss the point post

This Geary "love" is detrimental to the development of the side

Yesterday he ran around like a headless. Chook, accountable for no one

Hence Sydney having so many medium targets free in their forward half with Geary on his pat malone distance away

One of our problems

I was at the game. How people on this forum claim he had a bad game is beyond me. His first qtr was ordinary yes, but after that he picked up 21 disposals running goal line to goal line. He also took 8 marks which in isolation means little but again look at his heat map and you'll see how hard he worked. Contrary to many others - from my recollection he also didn't turn it over once.
Watching on TV gives the couch potatoes on this forum about 10% true perspective. It's like the Gilbo and Geary haters - both work so hard to get to every contest yet the couch potatoes see what they see only.

You clearly watched the game on TV moron and did not see how hard both worked to get from contest to contest.
As for Longer - who won the hitouts and helped us win the centre clearances - yeah I guess you can argue he had a shocker.
Back to the TV chum.

I was there too and didn't see any heat maps. All I know is that Mav is having a very ordinary year.
If you thought Billy won the hitouts you're probably right, but only about 10% were to advantage.
Watching it on telly now. Can't believe you think Mav had a good game. Next thing you'll tell me Dunstan and Sinclair were good.
