Mcstake

Post: # 1671527Post ace »

Half Time

We don't have a tall forward other than Riewoldt.

McCartin is NOT a tall, he is a small.

Riewoldt jumps, Bruce jumps, they play tall.
They often get tunnelled
McCartin does not jump, he plays small.
Has anyone ever seen McCartin get tunnelled - not possible if you don't leave the ground.

If we play McCartin we still need to play Bruce.

I think he really wants McCartin to be a good AFL player, you don't always get what you want.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

He should grab a copy of that last goal Buddy kicked and watch it over and over and over again and spend the rest of the season busting his ar*e to improve his fitness, as sorry to say, Paddy has a hell of a long way to go.

Even with an ordinary day he was better than Bruce's last fortnight.

I beg to differ. Bruce presented and made many contests, creating opportunity for others. His stats were poor but his team play was miles ahead of Paddy today. Paddy has no tank and his second efforts are almost non-existent.

He was not, his defensive effort (not sure if you noticed) was horrendous

Bruce works his arse and presents

McCartin is just not fit or fast enough... fairly obvious?!

He also isn't one touch... like great players, he fumbles

Nah, trout said that's a non-issue

In fact it'll make him better

I'm more concerned about 3 AFL season in a pro (7day a week) environment and having puppy fat

How the f*** does that happen?

It may well be but until the AFL makes special allowance for handicapped players he gets no special consideration.

If Demetriou were still in charge we would stand a chance of every team having to include a player with diabetes and also a player in a wheel chair.

Did Trout take the bait, hook line and sinker.

Hope that is not what is holding him back because if that is the case then our recruiters have a lot to answer for. They get paid good money to make the right decision and this may haunt the club for a long time. He is a nice kid who has a lot of expectation on him but if his medical condition was going to be a limiting factor then he should have been overlooked as the No. 1 pick. Niceties aside footy is a huge money business now, based purely on success. They may well have picked on hope rather than presenting talent and facts at the time. Not good enough. We all know that the other clubs had Petracca as the cream of the crop and their first pick. His coverage of the ground, stamina and the way he presents himself is woeful for the first pick of the 2014 draft. He has been in the system long enough and he seems to have half the tank that Anthony Rocca had.

I'm more bullish than most about McClunken but maybe he needs Hodgey's lite n easy. Three years into the system and still puppy fat?

YES
Tunnelling is a tactic used by cowardly defenders to hurt a forward who is giving them a hiding.
If he gets tunnelled he will make it as a great forward.

The diabetes may prejudice his body shape.
But whatever body shape or how dire his diabetes this game makes no allowances for handicaps.

Half the population can never play AFL simply because they are not tall enough.
