Petracca had very similar stats today, kicked 1.1, 15 disposal (Paddy had 9 kicks and 11 effective disposals to Petraccas 8 and 7) Paddy took 9 marks (2 contested) and no tackles, petracca took two marks and six tackles. Keep in mind Paddy was a lone KPF against the premiers and petracca was taking on a GAJless Gold Coast.

It could've been so much better, too. A couple of dropped chest marks and an accidental spoil on Acres 10 metres out (thankfully resulting in a goal to Newnes), with a number of times where he got his hands to marks but couldn't hang on. If a few had stuck, in what we're good positions, he may have had a very good game indeed. At least today, there were good signs. A long way to go, but on a pretty dark day, he was a small ray of hope.

Versus Sydney, dropping Bruce out for McCartin with Riewoldt playing forward was the original McStake.
Bruce should have played as well as McCartin and Riewoldt.

The McStake was clearly evident against the Dogs.
They again kept Bruce out of the team but this time without Riewoldt.
This left McCartin alone without Bruce or Riewoldt.
The first half of the third quarter, the coaching staff admitted to the selection committee stupidity.
They moved Carlisle away from defence to help McCartin.
This backfired as it totally disrupted the defence forcing a rethink before the quarter was over.

Bruce must play with MCartin.
It is unfair to play McCartin alone.
He cops the best defender and one or two more opponents as well.
McCartin did not lose the match against the Dogs.
It was lost at the selection table.
A massive McStake.

I agree our selection table lost the last two games - we had a forward line and team that was winning - and we changed it.

Agree ace. Very dumb thinking a very green 21 year old forward can do it without support.

Sure, Bruce's form was poor, but so was the other manbun who continually gets a game.

Isn't it interesting that we are saying

If he didn't drop marks, he'd have had a good game? Isn't that the point? Bit like saying, if he didn't get out he'd have scored more runs? He did drop marks and up until the last quarter was very average again. He was good in the last q.

He ended up with ok numbers, but we went to him regularly and I had his opponent in the Dogs best players. At the end of the day he kicked one and the team kicked 7 goals. The forward line was dysfunctional. Membrey was OK, but the WB backs easily countered the forwards.

Paddy is slow, he fumbles and the great hands he was supposed to have are far from it. He even double grabs the ball on lead marks or drops marks. His first thee quarter yesterday, he cost the side three goals and was on the line for half a quarter so we had no forward structure

Was good in the last Q

Didn't see any of the game or listen on the radio, but it sounds like he got to plenty of contests. That to me is a positive. His stats look ok. Add 2 or 3 goals to them and they're real good. How'd the million dollar number 1 go?

Can we add 2/3 goals to Tony Locketts average or Stephen Milnes

Tony would have 2000 goals and Milney 1000

Wow.

Can I add some runs onto my career batting average, to say I am better than I am??

Who's talking about averages? You are the king of irrelevant nonsense.

If Paddy kicks another goal or two YESTERDAY, no one is talking about McStake, we're talking about how good of a game he played. And he came mighty close to kicking an extra goal or two.

Paddy didn't lose the game. He looked alright. Midfield didn't work hard enough. I lost count whilst watching at the ground of how many times dogs got numbers to the ball first.

Paddy one out in the forward line ...will kick six tomorrow.....

Johnathon Brown was really impressed with Paddy. Nine marks plus one taken off him 25 out directly in front is not bad.

Absolutely agree. But too needed the rest and Bruce was out of form. Methinks it was the perfect opportunity to bring Marshal in to support McCartin up forward and as the second ruck. Selection committee messed up biggly.
