St Kilda has the Championship Belt

Post: # 1670446Post Sainter_Dad »

From the very first VFL/AFL match when Fitzroy took the title, the belt has been (figuratively) handed on to whichever team beat the current holders.

At the start of the season Geelong held the belt, Collingwood beat them, Carlton beat Collingwood and of course we beat Carlton.

We are having our title defence this coming Saturday against the Swans.

Geelong didn't win their final game last year. Or do finals not count.

As I understand it - finals do not count - the thread comes from r/afl and someone commented there that they would have included finals if they were doing it.

I can see why things got so heated in such a big stakes game.
