1st time this year the back 6 were beaten. And we really struggled as a team to break their chokehold. Carlton put up a real good fight today, were hard to play against. Very gutsy last quarter by the saints.

5 Billings - brilliant - goals, good field kicking (mostly) and covering the ground well. His ability to kick goals from a long way is a huge weapon as it stops defenders from just sitting deep. And you still feel he has so much more upside. Could be anything. Anything.
4 Ross - continuing to take the responsibility on his shoulders as one of our two top mids. Love seeing him score goals - including one that was huge with the game in the balance. CArry on as you are please Mr Ross.
3 Newnes - thought particularly early he gave us tremendous drive out of the back half. Just another lazy 33 if you don't mind.
2 Steven - his normal busy bee self, breaking away from packs like everyone else are standing still
1 Acres - Not huge possessions but his tackle and straight line running was so valuable as it just provided something different to a lot of our mids. The marks didn't stick today but he often floats forward as a dangerous forward target which we needed with Roo not playing as well.

Good call on Acres. Got us going in the last. The trend this past month has been Billings on fire early, really busy, and Acres kicking in later in games and finishing very strong.

5. JB. May there be many more
4. Seb. That goal drove the win
3. Man Of
2. Jackie Boy
1. Jakey C. Not only did he take some cracking marks, that marking effort in the third (that lead to the Dog Act) lifted the whole team

Apologies to Billy, Gilbo and Blacres

He was the leading possession winner on the ground at one stage.

We won the hitouts, clearances, centre clearances, stoppage clearances. I thought Billy was tremendous.

Which is great. Yes he helped, but besides hit outs I think you can attribute most of that to Steven, Ross, Steele and dunstan. I wouldn't have him near the votes. Like I said, Kreuzer was a huge influence today too.

I think gears should get an honorable mention. Never gives up on a play, goes in for 3rd and 4th efforts in a contest, vital tackle against cripps and led the charge against the scumbag murphy after his disgraceful display of sportsmanship.
