Koby don't change

I earnestly hope and pray that Koby Stevens suspension will not result in him changing the way he goes about things.

He is a contested ball rough nut. That's why we recruited him. We desperately needed someone who likes to burrow in and get the footy from the opposition and who likes tackling. Hard.

Koby's tackle won him a free kick but got him suspended for a week. Go figure. If that is not called rank hypocrisy, I don't know what is.

Maybe Koby needs to rid himself of the sling tackle from his repertoire. But he needs to keep doing what he is doing ie the hard stuff because he does it well and it's working for our footy team.

On another matter, I notice one D. Barrett wrote today that if we keep playing Paddy in the twos he will be looking to go elsewhere in 2018.

I don't know what Paddy's contract is but that is pure Barrett BS in my view. Forwards take a while to develop. It will do Paddy no harm to be playing for Sandringham. He kicked 7 for the Zebras two weeks ago. He kicked a couple last weekend in conditions totally unsuited to his style of footy. But reports were that he presented well.

It won't be long before he is back playing footy for the Saints. Richo rates him very highly. Most people on this forum, including me rate him. Barrett's got it all wrong IMO. It wouldn't be the first time for one D. Barrett. It won't be the last.

In 2106 he extended for another 2 years - so he is ours until the end of 2018, and with a Coleman under his belt he will be happy re-signing

There are signs that Geelong are in decline and they would be in trouble if Selwood or Dangerfield were out.
There defence is getting older and the rucks are weak.

I agree that the Barrett comments are total media speculation. But, we shouldn't take it for granted either.

Geelong could get ideas, panic over Hawkin's age and offer Paddy a Boyd-esq kind of contract. Then it will be impossible for us to keep him, especially if we land a superstar mid of big coin.

I am of the opinion that he is the best thing since
the Nutri-Bullet.

He is tough, strong, smart, fearless, has a bit of skill, knows how to get his own ball
and seems to get to the right spots.
